Meanwhile, this is why we need it. This September was absolutely miles off the charts as the hottest on record. Obviously the El Nino has exacerbated it which is why it's so anomalous, but this is way, way above any other El Nino on record. It's almost 1C above the recent (1980-2020) average, and obviously even more (1.75C) above the pre-industrial average. It's even more extreme in Europe which has been 2.5C above the recent warm average. It's also been the hottest first 9 months on record, globally, and there's no suggestion that it's likely to slow down yet: climate.copernicus.eu/copernicus-september-2023-unprecedented-temperature-anomalies

I take it the new pause will start now...?

The "new pause" will start after the El Nino ends in a few months. Depending on whether 2024 is hotter than 2023, the "new pause" will start with that year and all the previous years will be ignored. Until the next strong El Nino.

Social vandalism is letting the planet warm s verbal degrees when it’s easily prevented. If you’re concerned about costs to poor people you have no idea what the costs of climate change will be.

it's not broken but the boilists are determined to break it. Geoengineering: A Futile Attempt to Fix a Non-Issue and Dangerous as Well"In the realm of climate science, where alarmism reigns supreme, various forms of geoengineering keep popping up. But as with many “solutions” to the so-called climate crisis, there’s one which stands out as potentially causing more problems than it purports to solve.' “A technology being studied to curb climate change… would affect food productivity in parts of planet Earth in dramatically different ways, benefiting some areas, and adversely affecting others…”wattsupwiththat.com/2023/10/08/geoengineering-a-futile-attempt-to-fix-a-non-issue-and-dangerous-as-well/

people in the ice age could only dream about and fantasize about the "way too hot" climate we have. the lefts boilist cult appreciates nothing. it only wants to destroy.

I don't want to base my standard of living, expected global population, life expectancy, and so on, off a baseline of what people in the last ice age did.

That's exactly what you're proposing with 15 minute so-called cities and bike lanes.

You make a fair point. My ice age forebears always needed cycle lanes to stay away from mammoths and woolly rhinos in the main carriageways. And rarely needed to venture more than 15 minutes from their cave to pick berries or go to the library.

I don't want to base my standard of living, expected global population, life expectancy, and so on, off a baseline of what people in the last ice age did. not what they did. what climate conditions they had to endure. the constant whining about our current climate, where there is ample food production, where we can step outside without freezing to death in 10 minutes, where we can bask in the sun on tropical islands amazes me.

But there were much fewer of them and their life was miserable. I want my life to be better than theirs. Stability helps.
