As I pointed out, other people - like Mids and Baloo - know perfectly well and are just trolling. You seem genuinely unaware and I'm 99% sure will ignore Voice's concise statement and remain with your assumption that there's no difference.

So Action Man toys are for chicks and gays? And what about Latex Mandy then, with the lifelike hair, the inviting mouth, the pert breasts, the inviting thighs and vibrating nether regions? What's all that about? I think we set an age limit built, yes, chicks, gays and inadequates. Are you asking for a friend?

Is it Latex Mandy who likes to watch Married at First Sight?
It would figure.

There's a golliwog in our family. I think my wee brother got it second hand from a cousin. It was one of his favourite toys when he was a nipper. One of the teds, as I think they were referred to. Anyway, it resurfaced again when we were clearing my dad's house and I think I might have it in a box somewhere. I think I'll keep it, just to annoy the BBC.

We're these dolls ever "hung" in the pub, or were they on a shelf or in display cases? I would be interested to learn who used that word
They were in display boxes which were hung on the wall, I think.

Him saying "They used hang em like this in Mississippi" rather suggests he's just been a bit of a cnut.

Anyway, where is this pub? It sounds brilliant.

It does seem that sending five police officers is overkill, but also who in 21st century Britain thinks it's OK to have golliwogs on the wall of a business open to the public? Surely they knew there'd ultimately be complaints.
Just remembered I had a cricketer golliwog metal badge as a kid. Think it was a 'save up all the labels and send off for it' kinda thing. Haven't seen it years though. Shame.

Even mids wouldn't move to Essex for that.
Then again...

Black gollywogs are based on an insulting racial stereotype, white ones aren't. It's quite simple really. Why you respond to Sealions is beyond me.

"Camra Award ban for Essex pub displaying golly dolls" : www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-65260945I'm torn on this. On the one hand, I can see how hanging these dolls in this pub can be offensive to some people, especially given that the landlord of said pub posted on Facebook (back in 2016) that “They used to hang them in Mississippi years ago". Moreover, both he and his wife plan to replace the confiscated dolls which, to my mind, is a brazen flouting of the Law and is asking for trouble. On the other hand, I myself have a Robertson's Marmalade golliwog brooch of an astronaut, which I chose back in '83 to celebrate the flight of Guion Bluford Jr., who was/is the first African American to go into space. Does this make me a racist and, if I were to get rid of it, would that itself be my tacit assertion that African Americans shouldn't go into space? Genuine questions. I’m not torn. It should not be a police matter and the awards organisation can decide they don’t want to consider racists for awards. Fairly straight forward. You should also ask, re your brooch why said astronaut was depicted as a Golliwog…

I'm pretty sure sealions aren't racist.

Yeah. Pretty much agree with Van here. It's racist. They're clearly either racists or trying really hard to appeal to racists. Everyone is welcome to point out the racism, including CAMRA. In order to avoid racists and racist bullshit.
But it shouldn't be a police matter.
As long as none of these cunts whine about "cancel culture" when everyone points out their vile racism, we should let public opinion do its job. If they mention that they're being cancelled because of their racist stuff, then they should be taken off by the police and put in the pillory for several months.

The pub in question is in Grays, which is a dump. Hilariously, it's right next to Tilbury Docks where the Windrush inva... I mean landed.

Grays is genuinely one of the shittest places I've ever been to. I think Luton and Blackpool and Buttonwillow and Dodge City are nicer.

Worked on a project at Tilbury docks once, installing an X-ray system. The staff there were some of the most racist I've ever worked alongside.
The most overtly racist bloke I knew, served in the RAF with me. He was from Dover and his Dad worked at the port.
You get very racist people working at airports too, but I assumed they hated their job so blamed it on everyone coming in.
Strange world. I suppose it's like doctors detesting their patients.

Never heard of Buttonwillow before. Sounds quite sweet and can't possibly be worse than Blackpool.
Worst place I've been to is Meekatharra in Western Oz. I don't remember much other than zombie-like aborigines, squalor, and just wanting to f**k off out of there.
