For some reason society is far less comfortable with women who don't marry / have children than with men who choose likewise.

Probably to do with still seeing womanhood/motherhood as interchangeable. And women being defined by marriage in a way men aren't. A hang over from the old days when a woman was always a man's responsibility (hence bachelors are lauded as they managed to escape that "burden").

"Students at a Plainview, TX Elementary School won’t be going to class on Monday. The South Elementary School is being closed temporarily due to teachers claiming to feel threatened.
