Two of my sons love them. I can't eat any of that slimy stuff as I just gag when I even look at them. I can eat mussels though which is quite weird but in my defence they're not that slimy especially when cooked in a red wine sauce.

Now, jellied eels...could eat them all day. Although I prefer them stewed. With lumpy mash and liquor. Fried in garlic? A bit too Sunday Observer for me.

Woman dies after 'cold water therapy' in Derbyshire river www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-derbyshire-61257378The world of sport and exercise, where this is very popular is a breeding ground for pseudoscience and misinformation, and whole-body cold water theropy is just the tip of the iceberg. The falsehoods often start here but quickly bleed into other facets of modern culture. After all, while people are spending their limited time and money on unproven fads, they’re ignoring scientifically proven modalities that may have genuine benefits. What’s more, it’s sadly common to see minor medical ailments turn into serious ones because they were “treated” with placebo medicine. Consequently, bad science in health and fitness can have profound downstream implications for population health and clinical practice. It’s for these reasons that tackling pseudoscience in the industry is so crucial, but what's the harm right?

You're right, the problem comes when people claim that it's actual therapy, rather than something that certainly feels like it's having an effect and might - might - have a therapeutic impact. Chiropractors are similar.

Spring time in the park, it's mostly the mallards that are the cause.

Cynics... I'd have expected the comments to be awash with sympathy.

Was it a chronic mallardy that quailed her?
