Brit pound = $1.709 CDN today.
Voice, they're still ahead, maybe not financially, because they live here with you instead of the UK. That's got to be a good thing. I wish my mother had moved here when I asked her to years ago. Too late now.

They could vote provided that they last voted in Blighty less than 15 years ago. I could vote.

The referendum wasn't binding. We all know that. The 'out' faction told lies and misled the public. We all know that. Why then, is Madam May insisting 'Brexit's Brexit'? There's something extremely dodgy going on in the Tory party, because this farce doesn't have to go on. Not at all. Because if she sweeps it aside it will look very very bad. Almost political suicide for any MP. Plus as the Tories kept insisting it would be binding, it was a manifesto pledge, would be odd for them to go back on that now. Like they even thought they'd lose the referendum! They fuc*ed it.

Almost political suicide for any MP. Plus as the Tories kept insisting it would be binding, it was a manifesto pledge, would be odd for them to go back on that now. Not only would it look bad, if May were to go cap in hand, begging to be let back in, because it was all a silly mistake, thee UK would be really fcuked in the eyes of the rest of the EU. One of the members here suggested we should do just that, "let us back in under and terms, even worse than before if necessary" What utter spineless bollocks.

It's not spineless, it's sensible. It would be the best thing for Britain, and for the EU, for us to remain. And the second best thing would be for us to rejoin as soon as we possibly could if we do exit.
But it's not going to happen. I am increasingly convinced that all this "non-binding" stuff and all the desperate pleas calling for another referendum on exit conditions are wishful thinking. It's also what I wish. But it's not gonna happen.
Britain's leaving the EU, and by the looks of it, most likely leaving the single market. It's disastrous, particularly with Boris and Davis guiding us there, but it will almost certainly happen. I'd put the odds now at about 90% or so for us actually leaving, and 60% or so for us leaving the Single Market.

The sensible thing would be for people to stop whining and get on with it.
As a said to lala awhile back, it's almost like the remoaners want the UK to fail just so they can say, "see, told you"

The sensible thing would be to get on with it in a way that's not going to totally screw the country for decades.
The amount of whining is really neither here nor there in sensibleness.
As for "told you so", this is one of the very rare occasions where I want to be proved spectacularly wrong: that the British economy is going to grow in leaps and bounds, that Britain will become a more open and liberal and tolerant place which is nicer to foreigners and isn't an arsehole about letting people in to work or join spouses, that has thriving industry, thriving international research cooperation, has a better record on human rights, has a good record of making sure the regions are well funded, is keeping up with the most progressive countries on global and local environmental protection, and so on.
But until I am proved wrong, I'm going to be saying "told you so" repeatedly to drum it into the heads of the morons who thought this was a good idea how incredibly stupid they have been, and how it's their fault everything's f**k*d, so hopefully they'll grow up a little bit and stop acting on their stupid petty prejudices and start listening to experts who actually know something rather than just relying on wishful thinking.
For the time being "I told you so" is looking a lot more likely than "I was spectacularly wrong"

I'd like the UK to start being less crappy by not kicking out non-EU workers earning under 35k per year; often workers who've been in the UK for years.

Mrs May has just said in the House of Commons debate on Trident that she would have no hesitation in pressing the nuclear button. Deporting a lot of foreigners after Brexit shouldn't trouble her conscience, then.

Deporting undesirables is no bad thing.
I'd like to deport some f our home grown undesirables.
And a note to Andy.
Generally people of the U.K. Accept immigrants if they are decent folk.
