hahaha I see some members feel the sky will fall in leaving the EU. Relax, you will be fine.

Tell that to the scientific community, probably best over the phone though, they can get a bit stroppy.

Of all the votes I've cast, Brexit is the one I'm most proud of.

That's only because you finally managed to work out how to hold a pencil properly, and place it on paper.

The sky may not be falling but it is probably going to sag a bit, develop a nasty mould patch that will be visible through innumerable coats of pain, and the missus will insist on having expensive recessed lighting put in, upping the power bill while reducing the amount of light produced. And you'll be able to hear the arts scurrying about above it.
Because there are rats above the sky, you know. I saw one, once.

Couple of acro jacks will keep the sky in place for now.

"The people have spoken, their word must be final. We are all Brexiteers now. Well – to coin a phrase – f**k that. I thought Brexit was a stupid idea on 23 June. I feel the same now, only I have rather more evidence to back me up. The vote was close. The results may well be a disaster. The idea we should give in and accept this as the world burns around us seems a bloody silly one to me. The forces of Eurosceptic reaction, let’s not forget, whined about Brussels for 41 years. Why the hell should those of us who placed some value in a European passport abandon the fight, just because we are very slightly in the minority?" Nice article...

Racists, bigots and xenophobes won the day, Even if you accept not all Brexiters were racists, bigots and xenophobes (I see them in the majority) I doubt anyone would deny the percentage is considerably more than the margin the referendum was lost by.
No denying racists, bigots and xenophobes have and even deserve a vote but we don't have to readily accept living under those terms. When a GE is lost the opposition doesn't go home for 5 years they stay and oppose.
Between a horrendous project fear run by the Bremain Tories, outright lies and misrepresentation from Brexit Tories (who then all scurried away "wasn't me, wasn't me"), racist Ukippers and their disgusting posters we have been very poorly served by this referendum so anyone who tells me to get over it is just a c*nt. I don't have to, I still have the prospect of an independent Scotland within the EU so nah ne nah ne nah nah.

Would take years for Scotland to be back within the EU (if it becomes independent) after the UK exit, so I wouldn't build your hopes up for it to happen in our life time.

Listening to PMQs on the radio right now it seems there is declared support by Germany for Scotland remaining in the EU. Nicola acknowledges this will be difficult in the time it takes for Brexit but that's still her goal.
Very telling that those who clamoured for Brexit are in no rush for Brexit contrary to Cameron's promise to trigger clause 50 the day after the referendum. Could it be that those who lied and intimidated are planning some switch & bait on the electorate?

The PM as a Remainer doesn't want to trigger it until she is sure of the game plan. Not all that weird. (Lead Brexiters bailing is but in fairness it was just Johnson and Leadsom. Gove didn't get the votes and Farage is not part of government.) Plus it needs to pass in parliament.

The original manifesto pledge was to 'honour' the referendum result, which might have meant putting a bill before parliament to get shot down. Remember, they were nt expecting a majority when they drew up that manifesto!
Now they are talking about using the Royal Perogative to trigger article 50, which is absurd and would only be appropriate in the 15th century. I think it is a ruse. If they go the parliamentary root, they will get into all sorts of trouble with the Wets rebelling, and having to whip them through the lobby.
If they wave the Royal Perogative around, the whole thing will get delayed while it is debated at a pace which will make Chillcott look nimble.

f**k the Royal Prerogative. If we're going to Brexit, let's go a step further and get rid of the Royal Family. Then we can all cosy up together in our little island refuge and roger each other silly. Or sillier, if it's at all possible.

Feck sake it was a binary decision tree, they only needed 2 plans one for one against. It's appalling the electorate wasn't told of them.

Germany is historically the third-biggest inward investor into Scotland – after the US and France – and is also Scotland’s third-largest export market. Only this week Germany’s Aquila Capital made a significant investment in Scotland’s timber market. Within Europe, Germany is by far the leading source of “tourist euros” with Germans spending over £170 million last year – Scotland’s number two overseas visitor market after the US. The whisky industry has, of course, played its part. LINK
