I'm sure this is purely coincidental and nothing to do with monumental incompetence, mismanagement and responsibility dodging.

wow thats looks scary.
Lots of people are annoyed here as many US visitors fleeing the Covid clusterfuck in the US have found out if they say they are transiting to Alaska they can get over the boarder, quite a few have been caught and fined for simply vacationing in places like Bannf and Whistler, just last weekend I saw several US plated cars around town, worryingly one from Arizona the epicenter of things down there and one from California that's really looking out of control. Strange CA did so well in the first little while, now its a disaster, wonder why?

CA is pretty bad, but not quite as bad as it looks. We've had a massive increase in testing (we were really sh*t about testing early on), and the rate of positives has remained relatively constant. Of course, the positive rate should fall when you increase testing because you should be testing more non-symptomatic people. But the CA situation is not f**k*d up like Florida or Texas or Arizona. Worryingly, I'm driving through Arizona (and staying overnight) in just over a week as part of our cross country move. I'm going to be ridiculously cautious.
What happened in California is a bunch of things: right wing idiots in the Central Valley got all huffy and puffy about lockdown because there weren't many cases in the Central Valley, so lockdown eased earlier than it should have. And when lockdown eased in some parts of the state, other parts decided that they could get out, too when they shouldn't have. Which created a mindset everywhere that it's all over... Meanwhile, a lot of dual nationality people came across the border into Imperial County, because they thought they'd get better healthcare over here. And the virus was never properly contained in LA - which remains the main epicenter in the state.

Actually doing the drive twice: once to take a load of stuff out when we sign on the dotted line. Then heading back here for a couple of weeks, then heading out finally with all the cats. I'm going to get exhausted from driving.
FYI: California's positive test rate is about 5% right now, which is close to the national average. It has crept up from a low of 4.2% about a month ago. San Diego's remains a healthier 3%.
In comparison, Florida's positivity rate is up around 18% (from a supposed low of 2.5%) and Arizona's has rocketed to 22% (from about 6%).

You need one adult per cat and we have 3 cats; also one of the cats is a great big fatty who in a carrier exceeds the maximum permitted weight of 20lbs.

Report: Russia offered bounties on killing US troops WASHINGTON – U.S. intelligence has concluded that the Russian military offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants in Afghanistan to kill American troops and other coalition forces, the New York Times reported on Friday. Citing officials briefed on the matter, the Times said the United States determined months ago that a Russian military intelligence unit linked to assassination attempts in Europe had offered rewards for successful attacks last year. www.mercurynews.com/report-russia-offered-bounties-on-killing-us-troopsApparently Trump briefed on this in March, his reaction? Well unsurprisingly nothing, nilch, nada, Putin pays for us soldiers to be killed, 20 last year, and the moron in chief is just fine with it.

The Russian bounty story is shocking, but then not really. He wants his pal Putin back in the G8 so he has to overlook minor things like paying to have US soldiers killed. Traitorous orange piece of sh*t. And the one about having to release children from detention centers - that's really going to break his heart. Did you see his interview with Hannity? He cited the Veteran's Choice act as one of his biggest accomplishments, problem is Obama signed that into law. Does he not know or just his compulsive lying? His answer on "what are your goals for your 2nd term?": THE PRESIDENT: Well, one of the things that will be really great -- you know, the word “experience” is still good. I always say talent is more important than experience. I’ve always said that. But the word “experience” is a very important word. It’s in a very important meaning.
I never did this before. I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington, I think, 17 times. All of a sudden, I’m President of the United States. You know the story. I’m riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our First Lady, and I say, “This is great.” But I didn’t know very many people in Washington. It wasn’t my thing. I was from Manhattan, from New York.
Now I know everybody. And I have great people in the administration. You make some mistakes. Like, you know, an idiot like Bolton, all he wanted to do was drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to kill people. Also: "I think I am the probably -- a friend of mine said, “You have to be the most perfect person.” Isn't that true? (Applause.) Think of it."Industrial grade stupid. publicpool.kinja.com/subject-remarks-by-president-trump-in-a-fox-news-town-1844172460

That is some very special cherry picking... I attribute the move to Sleepy Joe being holed up in his Bunker for the whole time and saying/doing nothing......
