he's either desperately gullible and stupid, or just a complete liar.
I'll take all of the above.
So much for being the greatest negotiator of all time.

Why's he still there, Marshall? Can we assume that those who assassinate presidents are usually republicans?

The thing is he's a crap negotiator, but a pathological liar, so he goes to the G7 gets nothing, but has a press conference telling his, less than bright, voter base all about how he aced it. He then goes to NATO gets nothing, but holds a press conference saying how he got all the NATO members to spend more and quickly (despite every single one saying, 'yeah, no, we'll be keeping to the Brussels agreement we made with Obama')He meets Kim and tells everyone "Kim is great man, very intelligent (faun faun faun) and has agreed the get rid of all those nasty weapons and such, but we don't need any process for verification cos, Kim, I can trust him" meanwhile Kim changes nothing, but the Trump base is more intent on their efforts to continue to believe any and every lie he spouts so have abandoned any attempt at critical thinking.

Good question, although there were a couple attempts on Reagan I thought it's supposed to be the lefties that are the violent ones. If only there were some brain-eating disease he could contract that would render him utterly mindless and totally cut-off from reality. Oh, hang on...

New York GOP Rep. Chris Collins arrested on insider trading charges www.cnbc.com/2018/08/08/gop-congressman-chris-collins-to-be-indicted-on-insider-trading-charge.htmlbig Trupister this one, one of his earlier backers in Congress. not the best week for the bloviating flesh bag, his campaign chairman's trial is exposing even seedier stuff than we imagined, the selling of government jobs, more worrying stuff about Cohen and the Russian meeting for dirt on Hillary possibly putting his odious son in very real danger of legal jeopardy, and despite throwing his full weight behind the election in Ohio, even holding one of his trademark Redneck Nuremberg rallies on the weekend, his bloke looks like he only just scraped in with just over half a %, this in one of the most heavily gerrymandered district imaginable where Trump won by over 10% in 2016.

Well if you think going from over 10% to scarping in with a mere 0.6% is comfortable. I suppose you have tell yourself that, even though deep down inside I doubt there is much belief.

Yeah, it's an interesting definition of "Comfortably" when it hasn't even be officially called yet because of the number of outstanding provisional votes. And when the Republicans put in shitloads of cash and had both Kasich and Trump in town to stump for their man...

There's stuff in last night's election that might make Republicans marginally less nervous - the fact that the district split even more strongly on the urban-rural divide, for example, might mean they're insulated against some vote-swings thanks to gerrymandering. But the lead (in a seat they've held every year bar one since 1930) of 0.9% after they've burned through a load of their campaign cash is not going to be reassuring.

That would be re-gerrymandering, when the Republicans took over they changed the gerrymandering of the Dems, you talk like the republicans invented the thing, when history shows it was the Dems.
Trumps team went 5 for 5 while the Cortez team struck out,

Trump is President. Cortez is a 28 year old who's not even in congress yet. You'd hope that Trump has more influence over his base.
Although it's not yet clear that Trump did sweep the board - Kobach vs Coryell is still too close for anyone to know.

It’s like the great phrase that they use in American sports “ The Scorer never asks how , only how many “ More winning....hilarious

Well, people he's backing are winning races within the Republican party.
The Trumpies lost massively in the Missouri prop 1 vote yesterday.

The GOP gubernatorial candidate for Kansas has been successfully sued four times for voter suppression.
And as current Sec. of State, he's in charge of supervising the election that he's in but has not recused himself.
So if it's a close tally we'll know who "wins".

He even gets to decide how much it costs to have a recount...

Meant to say supervise the recount (not the election).
Apparently his lead has been cut in half after "voter mistakes" were found.

Oh dear Trumps desire to piss away $90 million on a vanity military parade to boost his fragile ego and make him feel powerful has been booted into the long grass (again) www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45217286

Trumps strip mall lawyer, Giuliani, is laying the ground for dismissing the outcomes of the Special Prosecutors investigation. Truth is not the truth apparently, only what Trump says it is. www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45252493Meanwhile the fall out of his enemies list is growing. www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45249149Still while ever the GOP in congress continue to be spineless, the degradation of the their country will continue. What happened to the GOP didn't they used to be the party of the rule of law, backing the security of the nation over everything else, freedom of speech and so on, they need to change their name to the Party of Trump First above all else.

Sad, but it's a natural backlash from years of the other lot; it's understandable; not good, but understandable.
Brexit's a backlash too, but a misguided one: a backlash against years of bad government, where the people have been led by the nose into believing the blame lies with the EU. Ironic, because the EU's the only body which can stop the UK and the British people being thrown to the wolves - the likes of Mogg, Johnson, Banks, Farage, and their thieving buddies.

Manafort - guilty on 8 counts of tax fraud
Michael Cohen is in the process of a guilty plea deal in court in New York, including - it is rumoured but not certain - committing campaign violations "at the direction of the candidate".
