So your unqualified "Why can’t boys do what they want?" question shouldn't be challenged? It’s not unqualified. It’s a response to posts directly above as I have said about 17 times. Posts specifically about treating boys and girls differently. I’ve already told you to read them. If you don’t wish to, fine. But then don’t pretend others are discussing something they aren’t. As I said, already, I have not once mentioned minimal /non existent parenting. If you want to have a separate discussion about that, knock yourself out. But I have no interest in that.

No. I've been there again, and there is no qualification to your question, neither before nor after it, not from you nor anyone else.
Please feel free to post here such a qualification that you think you or someone else made.

I was raised in a gender neutral house as luckily, my parents separated when I was young (my dad was and is incredibly sexist.) My mom never called it “gender neutral parenting” though. She just didn’t think her daughter should be raised differently to her sons. So she didn’t do that. I think that was on account of her childhood where her parents were very strict in enforcing gender roles and she is bitter about that to this day (she’s in her 50s). So your mum taught your brothers how to use sanitary towels, natch.

Jesus f**k**g wept at the stupidity!)

Although in reality my mother didn’t teach me (or anybody else to my knowledge) how to use sanitary towels
They’re fairly self explanatory.

Yeah, bit weird forcing boys to use tampons in an effort to do "gender neutral" parenting. Probably sexual abuse too.

I suppose gender neutral parents must do it though, to ensure the boys and girls get equal treatment. Often wondered what the bulge was in Tom Jones's pants.

I can’t help it if you’re slightly retarded but they are self explanatory. And even if you are slightly retarded you can read. No special lessons required.

I didn't know what they were when as a child I first saw them in the bathroom. I thought they were funny little cushions with strings attached. And the first time I encountered a tampon was one already in use which I blundered upon in youthful ignorance.

Not supposed to use the word "retarded" any more. But you knew that, yes?

And the first time I encountered a tampon was one already in use which I blundered upon in youthful ignorance. There is a difference between not knowing what a tampon was (who would, without being told) and having to be taught how to use a sanitary towel. The latter, unless you’re a little retarded, you don’t need to be shown how to use it. We did however at school have a tampon lady who came around to talk about inserting a tampon. I am not sure that lesson really helped anybody though. Anyway there isn’t a reason why boys and girls shouldn’t be taught about basic biological functions, which includes periods. Standard biology. I remember the first time I saw a sanitary towel I thought it was an adult nappy. I was 6 or 7 and my mom took the chance to explain what it was and also teach me all about sex and how babies are made.

Generally agree there. We had sex lessons at school in the biology class. Apart from being a bit late in child-awareness terms (we all knew) it did give us cause to snigger and be generally dismissive of educational requirements.

We had sex lessons in biology and PSE (I think that stood for Personal, Social, Education.)
It was all old hat by then though. My mom had taught me years before.
