Had an experience of the looking thing, some years back.
For a short while, I was staying in a motorhome. It was parked on private land but the rear roughly faced a house.
One day, a PCSO came knocking, saying the woman who lived in the house had made a complaint that I'd been staring at her.
In reality, I sometimes gazed out of the window, lost in thought. I'd never looked at her, or even knew a woman lived there. Honestly!
Nothing came of it. Point being, if I have one to make, is it's a bit difficult to prove.

I got caught briefly looking at a woman from my window into her window when I lived in Bristol. She was an attractive Japanese chick, probably a student. She was stood in a small bay window in her bra and knickers with one foot on a chair rubbing lotion on her leg. I'd just happened to look out the bedroom window as she was doing it and was so surprised that I just sort of stared without really thinking. Plus she was hot. Anyway she caught sight of me and moved back into room out of sight. Didn't shut the curtains. It was a bit odd. Brazen. Maybe it's one of those weird Japanese cultural things. As she lived right across the street from me, I'd see her out and about. Bit embarrassing.

It's creepy and should be punished, just like up-skirting, but this feels more like a made-up, potential, outrage than something that really affects women. It's all part of the right-to-be-offended continuum - "stop looking at my breasts (which I have encased in underwear to make them look really attractive and left largely visible under a low-cut blouse) you beast!" What is wrong with men x2? This is real “if you don’t want me looking at a body part cover it up!!” energy. Weird and creepy. |
