If you have an appetite for sex abuse scandals, you should stick with the red-top papers. Sky and the BBC national and international news are more oriented to politics and the economy. Of course, they cover crime and social problems as well, but not enough for your tastes, it seems.

The attack on the BBC is perverted. People are reading all about the child prostitution business in the papers but they're not satisfied till they hear about it all over again on the BBC. And it's not enough that it's covered by the BBC - as it is- but it's supposed to be extensively covered on the national news. You would think you were dealing with Islamophobes who can just never hear enough about evil Muslims.

I had no idea you were such a keen supporter of child rape, Bert.
Nice to have a hobby, I suppose.

Newspapers are publicizing a social problem that, of course, deserves to be highlighted. The absurdity is in saying that national broadcasters are failing if they don't duplicate the extent of the coverage and push aside political and economic events to give it maximum prominence. Demanding continual highs of shock and outrage is not a sane way of approaching the issue. Although sensationalized and muddled, the facts are all there in the tabloid press. The Mail is leading with an article about Shahzad 'Keith' Khan who ran a brothel from an ex-council house in Telford. It tells us that he was raking in £2000 a night. It also reveals his recruitment methods. He simply targeted young girls and approached them in the street. One of his victims explains how he pitched the idea of working for him. 'He told me because I had a reputation anyway I might as well get paid for it,' she said. 'He told me about all of these older girls I knew from school and how they were doing it too and making loads of money.'There's even a lesson for Brexiters. After Brexit, we're liable to have more Khans and fewer Europeans. When he arrived from Pakistan he began his career right away, so you would think from the Mail report. What about 'controlling our borders'? Maybe things have been tightened up. It's not as if his activities were hushed up. In 2010, the girl who was sold for £2,000 a night spoke to officers linked to Operation Chalice, which found about 100 victims. The police tried to put him behind bars but the case against him collapsed. That's one of the problems the police complain about. They nab somebody but it's not followed up with a successful prosecution because witnesses are intimidated or are unwilling to give evidence. The Mail doesn't explain what happened in this case. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5515579/Paedophile-grandfather-sold-children-sex-Telford-house.html

"After Brexit, we're liable to have more Khans and fewer Europeans" Really? Link? Don't really need a link as members of old colonies often have British passports don't they? Or has all that changed?

I suppose because immigrants from old colonies, Pakistan etc, are more likely to be called Khan than Dupont or Himmler.
