Shall I give you a clue? Government spending alone contributed "48% of GDP in 2009–10" Sheesh - if I were to offer up 9- or 10-year-old figures as an argument, you'd be one of the first to complain. As it happens, the 2009-10 UK Government Spending to GDP figure was less than 45%, since when the trajectory has, of course, been downward, currently standing at around 38%, which may yet fall further still. Btw, your 48% was never met, the closest being in the mid-70s at a little over 46%. But hey, if you want to resort to figures 45+ years out-of-date, well, knock yerself out. tradingeconomics.com/united-kingdom/government-spending-to-gdpEither way, your point was shite.

So, in spite of your cherry-picking, is Germany in recession or not?

So, in spite of your cherry-picking, is Germany in recession or not? Currently no. To use one of yer favourite get-outs: Link? Still, if and when Germany goes into recession, you can then trumpet the fact, citing the perhaps PK-patented "My Saying Stuff Makes it So" tactic.

Either way, your point was shite. Beaten. Thanks. No. Your point was shite. You thought that having half your GDP spunked on government work suggested that Bongo Bongo was a Mickey Mouse country. It turns out that that level of spanking is not only common, but fairly normal. You blundered.

And blue British passports. Rum ol' world. Who is printing those passports again? They're going to be being handmade in sweatshops in Leicester out of turnip fiber because that will be literally the only material available in No Deal Britain after the country isn't allowed to, and can't afford to, import anything not grown in Britain, and the few edible plants will have been scavenged by the angry and hungry peasants who didn't get selected for the Sky Sports broadcast of Beetroot Deathfight.

There are lots of potential explanations for how Brexit came about, but the bizarre idea that 52% of the country are hedgies is not one of them.

Lord Justice Bernard McCloskey of the High Court of Northern Ireland has rejected the argument that the law courts are the place to deal with the Good Friday Agreement.
Over to you, Johnson. And to the leaders of the 27 other EU member states.

The Supreme Court is in recess until the end of the month but, apparently, the judges are interrupting their holidays to help decide the fate of the nation. From Tuesday 17 September 2019 10:30 Courtroom 1 The Supreme Court will hear Brexit-related judicial review case(s) from 17 September 2019 in Courtroom 1. The following nine justices will hear the case: Lady Hale, President of the Supreme Court Lord Reed, Deputy President of the Supreme Court Lord Kerr Lord Wilson Lord Carnwath Lord Hodge Lady Black Lord Lloyd-Jones Lord Sales The hearing will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis in the usual way, and we plan to provide additional overflow spaces in the other courtrooms. The case will also be live-streamed and available to watch online as usual via our website. There will be a media suite available for accredited journalists alongside a very small number of reserved seats in the courtroom. www.supremecourt.uk/news/brexit-related-judicial-review-cases.html

Your question was, "Is Germany in recession or not?" At the time of writing your question, Germany was not in recession and, in spite of the usual mids/perry felchfest, your both wanting it to be so doesn't, ipso facto, make it so. Honestly, all this guff about "what's the feel in the market?" is dodging the issue of your absence of a link proving a current German recession. By all means you can cream yourself senseless if and when it is announced that they are in recession (we'll all stand around and watch you, obvs), but till then just take it on the chin that your premise was wrong. Thanks.
