Sheesh, CN, having to resort to making yer own porn now, eh?
As a Kleenex shareholder, I applaud this.

Why are you so keen to waste our money redesigning a vessel when there's a perfectly suitable design already done? Very strange outlook. A metaphor for Brexit.

You think the EU is well-designed?

I think this sums up the attitude.
"To committed Remain politicians, the EU can do no wrong. What they say is gospel, and any UK disagreement is heresy.
It is hard to come away with any other impression than many Remainers simply want this country to fail."

Yeah. The entire Remain position appears to be one big, nihilistic, tantrum.

Yeah. The entire Brexit position appears to be one big wrecking tantrum. "Gimme my ball back. I'm not playing... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!"

So you think that UK owns "the ball" in the EU?
Okay. Bit jingoistic.

The upside of the prorogation case being 'won' by the government is that when Corbyn gets voted in he can prorogue to his heart's content.
That'll be fun to watch - armed forces disbanded by default; Queen's Speech denied; Royal subsidies denied; no opposition in fact to prevent a New Communist State. Moggs'll be hanging from the gates of his mansion along with thousands of other privileged thieves across the sun-lit uplands, and the British people will be free of their chains at last.

The EU has flaws, so the brave, forward-thinking and intelligent thing to do is to fight for change within, not to flounce off citing the usual cant about “our European friends”, whilst systematically insulting those “friends” citing the War incessantly, the use of tropes such as a Belgian Air Force accident, and the use of name-calling as a poor surrogate for rational debate. Anything else pretty much defines Surrender Monkey for me. The easy call. The quick fix. Nothing particularly aspirational or life affirming.

Nah, you recognise the truth of it, hence your discomfort. It was perfectly exemplified a couple of weeks ago by remain politician Michael Heseltine when he said that the economy was doing "better than we'd hoped".

Time to try our own way.

So you'll be supporting "remain and reform" as one of the remain choices if there's another referendum then? So we'd have, "remain as is", remain and reform" and "remain with full steam ahead for more Europe" on the ballot paper.

I don’t know what will be on any ballot paper in the future. Nor do you, come to that.
We have yet to see how Brexit turns out after we leave (and we SHOULD now leave, btw) after which we can all take stock.

You make my point so well. The easy answer. The quick fix. The "no thought given to what someone else actually said".
We should leave the EU on October 31st, a move which immediately spikes the guns of Farage, his acolytes and all those riding on his coat-tails. We'll be out, they'll have had their way, and this will give legitimacy to whatever party wants to then campaign for re-entry to the EU.
"Ignoring the 2016 will of the people" will fail as an argument (again, we'll be out), all clocks will essentially be re-set to zero, whilst everyone can then see the economic and political fallout from our having left; we can then all vote accordingly as we see fit when the time comes.

Btw, if you're going to quote Heseltine, have the decency to quote him correctly.
His actual quote (according to Guido Fawkes, obviously yer jazz mag of choice) was "This country’s economy is doing significantly better than you might hope”.
"you might ..." cf. "we'd ...". You get the difference, right?
