I wouldn't want to do your job. So full marks there.

1. The word I used was actually 'decreased' not 'increased'. It's quite important that you read this correctly. 2. OK 3. If everyone was healthy you'd have to find another job and all the big pharmas would go bust. As an aside, I've had flu 3 times in my life; real flu, where the first sign is you think you're going to die and the second is you hope you're going to die. If vaccines work, why aren't I immune already? Surely the real thing offers better immunity than the jab? Even my doc said the vaccine's a bit of a shot in the dark (it would be in Van's case I suppose). Racist.

Looks like the vaccine effectiveness is cumulative if you get it every year. Here's another reason to get flu shots every year"Here’s a good reason to get a flu shot every single year: people who got a new vaccination every flu season were less likely to die or end up in the hospital with severe flu, a new study shows." "A look at people taken to the hospital with influenza showed that those who had been vaccinated repeatedly did better than those who had only been vaccinated in the current year." "The study of people over 65 — who are most likely to die from influenza — showed that repeated vaccination was twice as good at preventing the most severe complications of flu." www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/here-s-another-reason-get-flu-shots-every-year-n835901Like someone else said, if you get the flu it's like being hit by a freight train, and you actually want to die. Even if you still get the flu, you will still get some protection with the vaccine. Beats dying or being hospitalized, yes?

1 - it’s not a scam
2 - it does more than reduce your chances of getting a particular strain:it also protects everyone else because you have less chance of infecting them.
2a - And it reduces the impact of other strains on you
2* - even if all it did was reduce your chance of getting the most common strain each year that would be worthwhile. Why would you choose to get hit by a freight train every 5 years when you could reduce that to every 15?
3 - it doesn’t particularly help make rich people richer

I still avoid the vaccine.

It's my experience most people who claim to have the flu don't, a heavy cold and a bit of a cough is not flu, yet so many self diagnose it as such.

I've took the flu shot the last 3 years, I have not had the flu for over 20 years, can't really remember having it, do I credit the shot with not getting the flu?

that I think is more of a life-style choice, instead of santa bringing them a basketball/football/baseball he is giving them a phone, you here rarely see kids out playing, even in my neighborhood, would be a great place to ride bikes, there is a school about a mile or so away, you never see kids there playing basketball, or tennis, seem to spend their time on couch with their phone
