Not sure why you're so upset about most that Dr's get paid well but still expect a decent pay rise in line rising living standards or just that they have an association that is fighting for them alone, as this shows contempt for every one else.
your obsessive hatred of health care is very odd.

Oh we can only afford 1% for health care workers, but can shovel millions in bribes to car companies and millions more to tory donors and mates of the PM for various failed schemes?
weird that

Awww! Baloo still believes that people who have a "vocation" should do it for free because they love their work and think it's important. Not that people doing important work should get compensated properly for the value they bring. Do they bring more value that the nurses in terms of marginal pay rises? What are doctors paid in, say, France which has many, many more of them per head of population? Did you not notice in your article that the nurses are asking for a bigger pay rise than the doctors are? Also, why is their French equivalents' pay relevant? You told us that they shouldn't be asking for money because they think their job is important. If that was the case then what anyone gets paid anywhere else doesn't matter

Nurses should be asking for more, they've been historically under paid for the job they do.

So have people working the the space between digital cartography, computer graphics and the public understanding of science... terribly underpaid.

I've spent a bit of time looking at rates of pay and number of doctors per head of population. In crude numbers, UK has about 20% fewer doctors and they are paid about 20% more than comparable countries.
