Boudin = old slapper.
Boudin noir = black pudding.
Boudin blanc = white pudding.
Rond comme un boudin = pissed as a fart.

That red meat research article reads as if nobody understands science. It is fascinating.

Certainly not at the Guardian. Or among its readership.

So, we all agree that eating loads of red meat fucks the environment, but there's not a lot of evidence it gives you cancer.

Even my Dad, a super-carnivore, is going amazingly veggie. He is a very intelligent, generous, honourable, educated man. Brexiteer, naturally.

Thing about meat production is, its mostly quite horrific, and cheep meat means less humane treatment, having seen the huge chicken sheds spread out east of Vancouver where they raise a broiler in half the time than even 20 years ago by use of drugs and selective breading, same with the huge feeding lots I used to see in Texas for cattle, nasty, smelly and not a blade of grass for miles (in fact they feed em corn which the cow can't digest very well and gives rise to more prevalent E Coli strains, and they only feed them corn because the farms get huge government hand out to grow corn and so on). Same with milk and eggs, food production is industrial cos we need it to be.
No one really likes to think about where their meat, milk, eggs and so on is from or how it was raised as long as its cheap. And really if you don't care, or see it only as another industrial product, feed animals are human produced solely for eating after all, then eating meat is perfectly acceptable.
We know meat is far more costly in environmental terms, and we could eat less and not really effect our lifestyles that much, after all our parents consumed far less and were relatively healthy.

Meat's delicious. It's not particularly unhealthy. I eat a decent amount of it. It still fucks the environment, and the treatment of animals in the industrial production of meat is hideous. These things can all be true.

Even if I didn't like meat, I'd probably still eat it to annoy the BBC.

These things can all be true. True dat. I eat very little meat these days. Prawn curry tonight. Can't remember when I last had meat +something rather than something with meat in it, maybe.

Why have you eased up on meat consumption? Serious question. We've practically stopped.
