and how far back, some countries allow you to claim citizenship if a grandparent was born there, so now you run the risk of having your UK citizenship revoked if the gov takes a dislike to you and they find out dear old granny was born outside the UK. Very slippery slope this is.

Again, would I be "minding my own business" if I had travelled overseas to a war zone and pledged allegiance to a lower seeking the destruction of my former country?

Sajid Javid might think twice on this, being the son of Pakistani parents.

It's odd, isn't it? For all that the left go on about fascism, when they're confronted with an actual proper real life fascist, they go all doe-eyed and sympathetic.

having a right to citizenship in some other country does not mean you actually have it, it needs to be applied for and approved, if she or her parents did this for her and she is a confirmed Bangladesh citizen they she won't be starless so, while its still a slippery slope, it might just squeak in as legal, where as making her stateless is clearly illegal.

I don't see anything in that piece where she renounces her Britishness.

The fact that she's been left stateless is vile, of course, but apparently it's now legal under British law. Javid appears to be on OK legal ground to do what he's doing. It's just vile, wrong, and there's no proper process involved. The Bangladesh thing is a red herring.

So, we are no longer a true democracy where the rule of law is paramount and applied equally.

I don't see anything in that piece where she renounces her Britishness. You didn't ask for that. It's implied, of course.

I don't see anything in that piece where she renounces her Britishness. You didn't ask for that. It's implied, of course. You said she'd renounced it. I asked for a link. You provided none. It's pertinent, in part, because she literally in completely unable to renounce her nationality until she is 18 years old. The UK government - in the earlier link - explicitly refuses to accept anyone under 18 as being of sound mind to renounce their Britishness. So, even if we take your utterly tenuous dogshit explanation that she renounced her citizenship and the Home Secretary is just confirming it, she was actually unable to do so.

Nonsense. You're relying on Home Office paperwork now. So, you accept that, insofar as her own actions are concerned, she has renounced her UK citizenship?

No, I don't. I see nothing where she renounced it, nor anything in your link which said she had to renounce it.
But, as it happens, Home Office Paperwork is the correct standard for whether she would have lost citizenship, and she doesn't hit that standard by any number of measures. She should be treated like any other citizen.
