I think I said earlier in the thread that I'm incredibly middle class. But I'm not so middle class that I deny it.
These days it's more middle class to make your coffee through a very, very slow pour over filter, but I still prefer an espresso. I have an Nespresso these days and it makes perfectly acceptable coffee and is comically easy and fast. It's not the very best quality, but it's better than you make with a cheap espresso maker or one of those Italian stovetop things that the Italians swear by but I've never had good coffee out of. If you start going down the real espresso route, I think you need to pay a decent whack to have a machine that creates enough pressure.

I've never been a fan to espresso, though to be fair I've only tried it a couple times, years ago, who knows I may have found a sh-t espresso shop and I might like it,, know people that do, next time I am at Starbucks I'll try it again, don't like their coffee anyway, so nothing to lose

Don't do that! Starbucks espresso is notoriously terrible.

I am 100% bona fide working class. I just happen to have middle class job.
Also Starbucks is foul - nobody anywhere should be drinking anything they make.

If you work, aren't you working class? Or is middle class an abstract invented by the wannabe-not-working-class to help perceive themselves as better than working class?

That doesn't make sense, because otherwise the middle class wouldn't desperately try and claim to be working class (usually on the grounds that a parent or grandparent at one time took a menial job for a few days) as some kind of weird badge of honour.

Me and my entire family are working class. Always have been, always will be. That's the most middle class thing you've ever said.

What's weird is the middle classes aspiring to be working class. Nobody middle class aspires to be working class. Although the real question is why do middle class get so annoyed at working class people who don’t describe themselves as middle class?
