Not because it's in Israel. Because it's almost always utterly sh*t so I wouldn't watch it anyway, and they also don't broadcast it in America so I don't have the choice. Easiest bit of BDS ever.

UK came last, which is ridiculous as it was quite a nice choon.
It's been years since we watched it. It'll be even longer before we watch it again.

My eldest is off to Israel for 6 days end of June on a trip organised by the Jewish society in Uni, they will be visiting Jerusalem and other historic sites and a trip up the Golan!
I would like to go myself some time but the Missus is less than keen, she must think you spend most of your time dodging rockets

Nul points again last night for UK. Good. The song was shite and it was performed badly by a flabby woofter. Just like most of the other entries TBH. I watched a bit of it but it seemed to me that an awful lot of the songs were pale imitations of old hits. We spotted Beyonce, ah-ha, Billy Joel and others. Even the Italian winner were some twattish tribute to Hawkwind.

I can't remember the last time I watched it. I never got into the watching it "ironically" that now seems to have morphed into watching it with serious intent.

I think the last time I watched it "ironically" was when Wogan was still doing it.
But, and I think it's worth repeating, despite not having seen it in 2 decades I am pretty sure there's been no decline in quality. It literally can't have gone downhill. It was all, always, 95% sh*t. The "quality", the cream that rose to the surface, was Abba, Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood of Man. Remember how absolutely dogshit everything else must have been.

Way back when the earth was young the Eurovision Song Contest was a song contest and the emphasis was on the song writers - the performers were secondary.
That, of course, changed immediately because, obviously, being televised the sight of the song writer or writers sitting at a table whilst the song was played didn't work and all the attention switched to the performers.
