Yes Downing College. did a post grad there, not my kind of place, they have this weird thing about who can and who can't walk on these little square bits of grass, insane. No doubt many nights in the boathouse, trousers round your ankles, shouting, "Please sir, may I have another!"

Why do you have an issue with this news story. “ Students from northern England are being ridiculed over their accents and backgrounds at one of the country’s leading universities, and even forced out, according to a report compiled by a Durham student... .... The student had attended a summer school run by the Sutton Trust, which encourages people from lower socio-economic backgrounds to go into higher education. She said: “Straight away this became a running joke of the class, that I was a token there. I was told repeatedly that the only reason I was at Durham was because my family were on benefits (my family have worked all their lives). I was accused of stealing, I was told I would never get a job because of the way I speak, I was told that I was a waste of a worthy student’s place. I received this from students and staff alike.” If a university, respected university is creating a hostile environment for students why do you think that it’s bad for the students to call that out? In many work environments this kind of thing would lead to disciplinary action. Maybe she just wants to learn in peace. Or is that you are so enthralled to the British class system that you applaud the over privileged denigrating people for being working class? As for it being “important news” it’s on a section of the website dedicating to schools and teaching and stories relevant to that. You blithering idiot. Very much a 'oh I've never experienced this so its nothing to care about'. Doing a post grad at Downing it was all like this. That old British class system rears it’s ugly head.

Men having long hair hasn't been a symbol of non-compliance since the 1960s.

Man buns, like lumberjack beards (or, worse, heavily controlled big beards), are the mark of a wanker who should be shunned by society.

Men having long hair hasn't been a symbol of non-compliance since the 1960s. That’s not entirely correct. People still react weirdly towards men with long hair (see: Ming). In many spaces it’s still seen as unkempt whereas it isn’t for women to have long hair. Dunno why, it’s great.

These days, there aren't many places where a man with long hair will get into trouble because of it. Most of the disdain for it now is against the wearer and his perceived "aren't I such a rebel" attitude.

It's also the self absobtion of the f*cking clown. Typical of the bun wearing genre. My pandemic epiphany is alll about me and how people see ME.
Is it solipsistic in here or is just me?

Unless it’s waist length in which case leave it out and long.

Man buns are crap, proven by science (probably) and you can't argue with science.
They are the epitome of "look, look, look at me now"
Only wankers and cnuts have man buns
