I expect we will see far right racists denying they are far right racists for some weird reason (despite being overtly far right and racist.)

Racists for years have been pretending that being recognized as a racist and being called on it if far worse a thing

That was just a general observation. Well, a fact really.

All of that is well understood by most people. He's being a smug, tedious, dick.

Next he'll be telling us that Columbus wasn't the first European in the New World, and that the partition of India wasn't a huge success.

In their own words............ By far the most popular and widely read newspapers at the BBC are The Guardian and The Independent. Producers refer to them routinely for the line to take on running stories, and for inspiration on which items to cover. In the later stages of my career, I lost count of the number of times I asked a producer for a brief on a story, only to be handed a copy of The Guardian and told ‘it’s all in there’.

All of that is well understood by most people. He's being a smug, tedious, dick. You genuinely think it’s well understood by most people? I am not so sure looking at how people talk about the events. I definitely have met more than enough people who seem to genuinely think “we” defeated the Nazis (instead of it being a global effort). And I am sure the same is true for Waterloo and the French (although admittedly people are probably less familiar). And in fairness he is referencing the Guardian article which states that at Waterloo Napoleon was “defeated by the British”). Asking for a Newspaper to actually describe things properly is fair comment. It’s akin to when the Yanks say “it was the USA that defeated the Nazis” or Laurence Fox crying at the depiction of an Indian man fighting on the side of the allied forces (yes I realise Fox is a cock so that is to be expected.) I don’t see why somebody should be insulted for wanting things reported properly.

Peter Sissons died almost five years ago, since when there has been wholesale bloodletting at or near the top of the Beeb, to the point that the current DG is one Tim Davie, Conservative Party candidate in the 1993 and 1994 elections for Hammersmith & Fulham Borough Council.
