He added: “It is the duty of a teacher is to ensure that everyone's view is respected and heard and doesn't result in ridicule and upset.
“I’ve never heard of a child being removed because they’ve got a different view to the school’s policy.”
In a statement, a spokesman for the Aberdeenshire Council said: “As part of our Public Sector Equality Duty we aim to: eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advance equality of opportunity between those who have protected characteristics and those who don't; and foster good relations between those who have protected characteristics and those who don’t.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So not everyone's opinion, just the PC one, very inclusive that!

So you’re saying the school should allow children to discriminate against, harass and victimise other students? What is with this nonsense “all views need to be treated the same”? What if that view results in others being harassed and bullied?

getting thrown out of class for having an opinion is discrimination! No it’s not. If your “opinion” is harassing other students or abusing them you deserve to be turned out. This whole “yes but all views are equal” tosh is just that, tosh.

No wonder there are so many trashy young people around with people like UJ and Rev defending classroom disruption;
“A leading school teacher’s union said it appears the argument had been “taken out of context” and the boy "intended to cause an issue".
If he was trying to cause an issue then it’s good and proper he is chucked out of class so other students can get on with learning.

so it's ok to harass this kid, it's ok to be prejudiced against this kid, it's ok to punish this kid for holding a different opinion, that is discrimination, you can disagree with the kid but to take action against him for holding the wrong opinion is pure discrimination!"

He wasn’t being harassed he was chucked out of class for trying to create an issue. As is right. It’s parents like you raising the trash like this isn’t it? Where children misbehave, deliberately try to cause an issue and are asked to leave class as a result and instead we have people defending his right to create a disturbance and not the right of others to learn in peace.

he wasn't harassing anyone, he was stating an opinion, if his words are harassing someone then he is also being harassed by being denied his freedom of speech!
Nice ad hominem attack by the way, that shows real class!

I am fine for little scrotes to be chucked out of class and would prefer if parents like you would refrain from defending children who are creating a classroom disruption.

The simple fact is that there are more than two genders. The boy was wrong. The article didn't say whether the teacher had pointed out that, among other anomalies, hermaphrodites exist.
No, I reckon the boy was parroting his dad or some of his less well-informed peers without really understanding what he was talking about.

What genders are there? Should they all have their own world cup?

What genders are there? Should they all have their own world cup? Males, females, hermaphrodites and all those others with misplaced sexual organs I suppose. And yes.

Either way the teacher asked him to take his convo to his house, he refused and created an issue and was made to leave. Sounds absolutely spot on to me.

Also when the free speech zealots whine that their free speech is under attack, what they actually mean is their speech is not free of social consequences. Which will never happen so they should stop whining.

Interesting that it's always the hard right who squeal about their right to free speech. Goebbels used to go on about it before they started murdering the opposition.

Their free speech is never under attack though.
Here when the marriage equality campaign was on those anti gay people being allowed to marry kept whining their free speech was under attack. They even wrote articles in mainstream newspapers complaining they were allowed to give their opinions...
What they meant is that they weren’t allowed to give an opinion free of critique. Which is quite a different beast.
