Probably. I have rarely taken time off for sickness but, you know, public sector.

I told the doctor this evening that I thought (in my professional opinion) that I needed some antibiotics as that usually stopped this sort of thing dead in its tracks. He said that I didn't appear to have any medication for years and I told him that's because we have had a huge stash of penicillin at home, courtesy of my daughter's recurrent tonsillitis. We had a bit of chuckle about that and he asked me why I needed to see him. "We've run out. Duh!"

well Monday's been a bit grim - but yeah 24 hours of utter, utter torment and suffering.

But I didn't make a fuss...actually hardly mentioned it.

Amusingly, my fellow trainee in Humanities got himself put in a headlock by another historian on Friday after uni lectures. The assailant was upset about the GE result. FFS.

Badger's a lovely lad and very funny. He's no scrapper though.

People only say that to keep you away. They're perfectly healthy which is why they're at the party; there are just some people they don't want to talk to...

Flu is banded about for a variety of stuff, sniffles, a slight cough, even gastrointestinal trouble, stomach flu (no such thing) but usually not by anyone who's actually had influenza. It's like being hit by a truck
