Old news. MMS's been on the go for ten years or more. It's just as effective to go for a swim in the public baths.

I guess they aren’t proof reading news websites.
“ At least 213 people in the China have died from the virus, mostly in Hubei, with almost 10,000 cases nationally.”

I was in London yesterday. Saw a few people in medical masks. Poofs. Yeah, when we came back from Porto we kept seeing oriental types wearing face masks. It's no skin off my nose of course, but I do find it a bit precious. Rude almost. That's completely unfair, mind. Not hurting anyone and possibly doing some good.

Pooftahs. What exactly is a medical mask going to do against smoke? At best it'll stop huge particulate matter but you'll only get that right near the fire in which case you need something much more than a bit cloth.

Even the recommended ones (if it's that P2 one shown) needs to be carefully fitted according to the article and anyway is a completely different thing from the medical one that I see people wearing. Although they're wearing it to prevent infection which might make sense if there's an epidemic here which there isn't, so it doesn't.

Oh the medical ones are rubbish. I was just saying the mask wearing started with the bushfires and those wearing them aren’t being completely wussy even though they’re doing it wrong.
It’s just expanded now with Coronavirus.

Those masks are another perfect example of the HSE/medico-industrial complex lobbying for legislation, policy and regulation which serves little purpose other than creating jobs for the boys.
At a company (of cunts) that I worked at for a while, all of the site operatives had to come in to be shown how to fit masks and be issued with a certificate to say that they knew how to do it. It is self-evident and pretty universal but they had to do it for every model irrespective of whether they were the same pattern but made by a different manufacturer. Did people check on site? Yeah, sadly they did. The main client was Boots, who had brigades of HSE wankers walking around doing checks every day.

I quite like others wearing them. Stops them spitting all over me when they talk. There's one bloke goes to all the salle de fete reunions, a Serbian, who spits so much you have to cover your wine glass with your hand.

Some of those masks can be a bit abrasive on the nose, it's true. Anyway, Porto is lovely. One of my favourite towns to visit, although it's beginning to get a little touristy and lose some of it's grimy, boozy charm that made it feel like an accessible South American city more than a European one.

It's worth noting that there's some bollocks written about the density of the masks: people are commenting that coronoviruses tend to be pretty small, and would therefore get through the mask. This is true, of course, if the coronavirus was floating happily in the air all alone. But usually - as OOTLG hints at - viruses attach themselves to saliva droplets: if someone sneezes near you, you're better off wearing a mask; and you're better off if they're wearing a mask (although the inside of their mask is probably full of snot at that point, but that's not your problem). Won't stop everything, but will reduce the risks.

yeah, but not in the levels your fellow Q-Anon nutjobs are telling you to drink jim. when I had a pool used chlorine in it, was told it would not harm you though never thought it was a good idea to drink it, I'm sure we did however end up drinking some when we swam,

Yeah, we really liked it. The commercial centre's nice too. The smart street going down to river and the historic but was really well presented. I thought there was quite an authentic feel to the everyday commercial bit. Either way, it's magnificent.

Apparently it's far less lethal than ornery flu, but much, much more catching, which is interesting. It seems designed to sift out the weak on a grand scale.
