Not living in America I can't pick up the entire zeitgeist. I'm left with rick's posts and the BBC.
So...
has the BLM, Antifa and defund the police riots coupled with the bollocks in Seattle driven people towards voting Republican?

The polls suggest that is not happening. The polling has hardly moved in the last 3 months, and where it has it's marginally shifted the other way: projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/national/I live in some pretty liberal bubbles, but as far as I can tell the fear of a police-less anarchic nation run by liberal marxists (which are three entirely oppositional political philosophies, as it happens) is the preserve of people who were going to be voting Republican anyway. Everyone else seems to be able to parse the difference between the idea of protests against police killing black people with little accountability, and the handful of actual rioters. Most people see the Seattle thing as being a hippyish attempt at creating something like Christiana in Copenhagen, although doomed to fail basically harmless, and certainly not something worth worrying about in a year where nearly 200,000 people have died through the mismanagement of a virus. And most people know that antifa are a disparate bunch of groups who counter-protest when far right organisations have rallies, and aren't a huge monolithic attempt to take over the entire US, and that the right-wing media's attempt to portray them as such is a comically feeble attempt to revisit McCarthyism. Anyone who's panicked about it is already completely in the bag for Trump. It's all about motivating the base.

Yeah - I thought that might be the case.
Last time I had no idea how much Hilary Clinton was hated and how strong the Trump camp was.
But even though the rest of the world thinks Trump has turned America into a laughing stock and that the man's appalling it still seems that he has a strong base.

So it was Kimberley Guilfoyle who was the shouty unhinged Karen, I had a quick look now and then during the adverts, the whole thing looked like a study in re-writing history and massaging Trumps fragile ego. Though I recognize I was certainly not their target audience I do have to wonder at their ability to swallow this made from whole cloth nonsense put out by the GOP.

Yeah. Something like 30% of the country actually loves him, and think that trolling lefties is a sound policy stance for a President. 10-15% think he's a bumbling idiot but can't conceivably think of voting anything other than Republican for reasons of low tax, destroying all regulation, abortion, guns and appointing conservative justices. The rest of the public is either already always voting Democrat, or finds the President to be so bad that the alternative can't be worse.
In addition, very few people hate Joe Biden. And the ones that do are generally on the left of the Democratic party upset by his historical record of voting for things that are too right wing, so aren't going to vote for Trump. Biden doesn't have any of the animus that HRClinton had - the Republicans absolutely despised her, because they were convinced that she was a Trot, while the left (by US standards) thought her record of supporting Bill's borderline sex-crimes, of being Secretary of State while allowing drone bombings abroad, voting for the Iraq war, and so on meant that she was no different to most Republicans and despised her for that. She was both too right wing, and too left wing, and too female, but at the same time wasn't a good cookie-baking first lady in the 90s.
Biden's pretty dull, and always bang in the middle of the Democratic Party. But that means almost nobody has any great dislike for him.

democrats hate , republicans disagree I never hated Obama, or Biden, or Clinton, but disagree with them almost all the time, but listen to a democrat and they hate any republican who has the nerve to disagree, they hate them, their spouse, their children, their dog, everything,

Wow jim, that is hilarious, the vitriol heaped on Clinton then Obama is a study in unhinged hatred, do you not remember the insane screaming of the tea party in 2009/10, not sure what you're smoking there mate.
The dems are much more willing to compromise and work across the isle, remember it was Moscow Mitch who said on day one of Obamas presidency it was his goal to make Obama a one term president and refuse to work with him on anything, the do nothing GOP congress between 2010 and 2016 such was the hatred in the GOP.
And you only have to read some of the crap your mate Rick posts about dems being subhuman to see its the kind of language you see in places where things go very very wrong, the dehumanization of anyone outside the cult is actually quite worrying, they routinely say dems are legit targets for violence and death, the so called '2nd amendment solutions' or calling for 'patriots to do something about (fill in latest hate figure)'

It's actually normally the goal of parties to run the country as well as they can within the confines of having a President they disagree with. They don't normally define themselves as purely oppositional.

Sadly Moscow Mitch has set the tone for the last decade by refusing to govern, I fear it this will become the norm for quite some time.

I forgot that Kimmy Guilfoyle is Gavin Newsom's ex, which might be why she was so angry about how California is being run.

pointing out the only jobs biden (except for his crooked sons) created in 8 years were in communist china and wondering why he didn't fix the infrastructure is weird? ok. The unemployment rate the day Don the Con slouched into the WH was 4.6%. What is it now? And all those infrastructure bills over the last four years. Can you point them out to me?
