Looks like a geriatric match up between 2 borderline dementia sufferers.
Won't be long now before it all kicks off into full gear again, be interesting to see the outcome now C19 has muddied the waters so much.

oh year forgot this bit Sanders bails www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52219756Wonder if the Sandernistas are going to sulk again and stay home, Trump will certainly be hoping so, he needed them last time to win and may need them this.

Foregone conclusion as far as I can see, the Democrats are mad as a box of frogs, I thought Gabbard was a good choice but for some reason the dems didn't.
Trumps an unsavoury character but he's done a reasonable job despite the media so who's going to be able to challenge him?, Biden is hopeless!

eh, what?
What has he really achieved, I mean really, and what greatness has the media stopped him from achieving?
The wall is not built, Mexico is not paying for it. The ACA is still in place. Mount Denali is still Mount Denali Still hasn't put visa restrictions on countries that won't take their illegal immigrants back. Hasn't changed the vaccine schedule one bit Never set up his much touted Commission on Radical Islam Hillary was found not to be crooked Hillary after all, despite him forcing the DOJ to do several investigations of her Never removed a single Syrian refugee Never got rid of the estate tax Never brouth back waterboarding (thankfully)
I mean I could go on for hours. All these were no1 priority promises he made and never delivered on.

Let's see what the final death toll is. And who.

It's entirely dependent on the death toll and economic toll of C19, at this point. The fact that Biden's an empty cipher at this point is irrelevant: he needs to do nothing as candidate - if the US death toll comes in below 50k and the economy bounces back quickly, I don't think there's anything any candidate could do: Trump will win despite all his astonishing f**k-ups around C19 (and he'll have basically been saved by Inslee, Cuomo and Newsom, ironically). If the economy stays in the shitter, there's nothing Biden could do to lose it.
For me, the fact that Biden's basically a non-entity is good. I would like a government run by someone who'll just appoint competent technocrats who'll just do everything in a mundane but competent way. I think that's exactly what we need in this kind of crisis. One where the CDC listens to their experts, where the White House listens to the CDC and implements policy. I know the Sandernistas wanted a revolution, and the Trumpists want to burn all the sh*t down and just take a Stalinist approach to the random incoherent mutterings of their dear leader. But I'm in the mood for boring competent technocracy - the Angela Merkel kind of government, basically.

I can't see Biden getting it, the Bernie supporters won't vote for him out of spite, I suspect Trump will walk it despite his character failings!

Interesting point though about who might not make it, both men are well in the danger zone if they were exposed, I'd hate for either one to get it as I'm sure the conspiracy mongers would go to town, and the Trump cult, who have a lot of mentally unstable gun toting idiots, might cause civil unrest the US could do without right now.

The Bernie bros are tiresome internet trolls. They aren't going anywhere with guns. Or, in fact, anywhere outside their rooms in their mom's basement.

It's interesting in the light of what happened in Wisconsin yesterday where voting was forced to go ahead with no expansion of safeguarding the voters, in a blatant move to suppress turnout to favour Republican down ballot chances, especially a state supreme court job, that Trump and the wider GOP have come out today to block any attempt to make voting safer in November, more or less admitting republicans can only do well when the voter turnout is suppressed.

Yeah, they keep saying the quiet part loud. Everyone knows they're deliberately suppressing turnout, but Trump in particular is being explicit about it damaging Republicans rather than doing what he's meant to do and say "it's about protecting democracy".

With Corona I had completely forgotten about this. I cannot see Biden beating Trump. No way.

It's weird the level of certainty there is from people who live thousands of miles away.

Biden is a terrible candidate of course, but not sure it will be a shoe-in for Trump. People actually are getting tired of all the "winning".
Plus, Biden is much less despised than Hillary.
