And really is anyone the least bit surprised that running though all the small, but vocal far right rallies on the weekend was this.

Hey, if sunlight kills it why not just open our lungs to sunlight?

The covidiots were on Westminster Bridge again last night, clapping back at the NHS.

Nah, the virtue-signalling snowflakes....oh yeah, the government.
Oddly, despite many, many stories of being close to collapse, there were quite a few paramedics and ambulances in attendance.

As I've said before when the mitigation measures work and the system is not overwhelmed the hard of thinkers will be all whittering that it was all an over reaction and there was an abundance of ICU beds and paramedics.

What seems to be happening here is that many hospitals are quieter than usual because people are staying away to "Save lives. Save the NHS".

Plus flu spread is down due to social distancing, less trauma as no ones out doing dangerous stuff, less car accidents and so on.

I think there might be a negative effect here though. There's quite a bit of anecdotal evidence that people with serious conditions are staying away. It'll all come out in the wash.

friend of mine works in A&E and she reckons they are getting 1/4 of the normal volume through.

I'm hearing the same. Apparently we're having something like 25% of the usual cancer diagnoses. And cancer is not something that's just going to be taking a breather. There's some suggestion that people aren't going in for minor heart attacks. The "excess deaths" figure includes both untested covid-19 cases and people trying a little too hard to not bother the health care system. Obviously there's also a reduction in people hassling their GPs for antibiotics to cure their cold (as nobody's catching colds), and fewer people in A&E for car accidents (although I have heard that despite the fall in car crashes, the ones that are happening are worse because people are driving much faster on average), and so on. As an aside, California is restarting most elective surgeries: "Surgeries which, if they're delayed too long, could become emergencies". I think boob jobs and so on are still forbidden.

Your great senator from Kentucky (not the one that gets beat up by his neighbor, but the one who looks like a turtle) wants to let states declare bankruptcy.

Because many red states are welfare states propped up by money from blue states. Why can't you make it on your own?

that would sound good, if it were true, Ky runs a surplus, like most Red states, where blue states are always just short of bankrupt, regardless of who is President, I'm glad Mitch is not going for a dem state bailout
