I wonder what would happen if you included all the military pork barrell. If you took the money the military spends on paying the people who can't get jobs because they were educated in Mississippi and the money they spend on useless hardware that's built in South Carolina and Alabama and the amount that's spent on providing military bases in Louisiana and Missouri and the amount that the members of the military then pump back into the economies of the places they live...
As an aside, don't call Kentucky a Red State. They have somehow got themselves a very competent Democratic governor right now.
