England were pretty rubbish. Fortunately Germany were worse.
I have also pointed out that pretty much every team in this tournament is pretty flawed. It's entirely winnable by England.
England are also playing in a very un-entertaining way. They have lots of fairly entertaining players - Sancho, Bellingham, Mount, Rashford, Foden, Grealish - none of whom started. It could be a really fun England team to watch. Instead it's very prosaic - really only Sterling and Saka on the pitch today gave any impression that they might do something until Grealish came on (and that was to replace Saka).

Can't have been a bad look for the Cambridges either.

Saka seems to be a real find.
Played well in both games - and he's only 12
Is anyone here watching the Tennis?

I heard some massive cheering when i was on the turbo trainer. I assume it was for Cavendish.
Magnificent.

Cav was magnifique, yes. Although I felt bad for the bloke who got caught in the last couple of hundred meters. He was so close to winning it and looked back and realised he had nothing left.

Anyway, England have now outperformed France, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands at this tournament. Which can't have happened very often.

And at vaccines.

Are you sure about that? Germany is infecting way fewer people each day than Britain is. So if Britain was doing really well at vaccines, Britain must be doing something horribly wrong?

Is that a Euro version of darts, where you pin a german to a board and throw syringes at him?

We're testing about 10 times as many people as Germany, so really, Germany has little idea how many people are being infected.

You'd think that if you were only testing 10% the number of people the positivity rate would be much, much higher. Yet it's lower in Germany than in Britain, and is on a rapid downward trend. So the question remains - how is Britain managing to do so badly if it did vaccines so well?

We're finding more cases because we're testing more. How is it you manage to regularly misunderstand that? It's pretty simple. Test (look for) more; find more. Add to that the fact that we're surge testing (looking for more in the places where we know more to be), it's not surprising were finding more. Imagine a big Easter egg hunt in a massive garden with thousands of hidden eggs (cases). There's one German and ten Britons looking for eggs (cases). Who do you think will find more eggs (cases)?

Yet despite having 10 times as many people looking for eggs, you're finding 100 times as many eggs. It's almost as if your garden is rammed to the eyeballs with eggs.
And you're not even putting your specs on to look for eggs. You're using lateral-flow egg-hunting rather than PCR egg hunting so there are almost certainly lots and lots more easter eggs you aren't seeing despite them being there.

Despite's not the word you want to use here.
