Why is the scorer of Ukraine winner wearing a bra? I’ve seen a fair few men with boobs (although admittedly none with a football player’s physique.)

And why does that black German player wear a fitted face-mask? To hide his shame. He's blushing.

Engerlund are doing genuinely well today. Ukraine don’t look up to much but most of that is because England have done really well at keeping possession and therefore not given the Ukrainians any chance of getting any momentum.

Been a reasonable game, glad it was Ukraine, they haven't really been in the game. And you gotta favor them over Denmark so they should reach the final. Though I'm not sure they have the quality to overcome either Italy or Spain.

Denmark are very good. And have that fairytale return from Erikson’s near-death on their side. Being back at Wembley probably adds extra unwanted pressure back on England. I’m not as confident as many are. I’d see it as 60:40 England at best.

Well of course andy - you'd get a nose bleed if you started praising England.

I did just praise England. I thought they did incredibly well today. I just don't think we should take our next opponents - in the semi-final of a major tournament - lightly. And I think home "advantage" is actually a disadvantage and I'd feel slightly more confident if they were playing in Rome again rather than with the pressure of being at Wembley.
In addition to praising England as a football team, for the first time in my life I actually like the team. Not just think they're playing well, but I actually like them. I like Gareth Southgate as manager. I like Sterling and Henderson and Mount and Maguire and Pickford (even if he sometimes scares me) and Rashford. I don't even dislike Harry Kane. It feels really alien when I normally expect to only half-want England to win because the players are obnoxious.

Well done England. A very solid performance. Sort of didn't need the commentators.
Now to bring home the bacon, eh?
Talking of football humour,I noticed that The Star's front page featured a full-page picture of Harry Kane and two footballs. Readers were invited to "Rub Harry's balls and give us a semi".
Today, the same newspaper's headline is "You rubbed Harry's balls and he exploded".
Dunno. Not nice, is it? It speaks to a sort of oafish indifference to decency and family values. Not the kind of thing that young children should read. Yeah, they probably won't get it, but that's not the point, is it?

The only thing holding me back from giving wholehearted support to England is knowing that Johnson'll be crowing in a sly, chummy, understated way, all over a victory.

That was an almost comically perfect lead-out. Bigger train with stronger riders dominating the front, let other teams get to the front briefly to burn themselves out and finish with a four man train peeling off...

You need a man with a big arse to lead you out. I reckon renshaw had the advantage over Morkov for that.
