It's an "Oxford United's play-off game is tomorrow, and that's the only one I care about" thing.

Oxford made the playoffs, I forgot about that, steeling yourself for the usual disappointment I expect.

Yup. We're going in with decent form and managed to sneak in under the bar on the final day, but have been utter dogshit against the other top 8 teams this year - I think we've won once against a team in the top third, and beat all bar two of the matches against the bottom third. We're proper flat-track bullies, so I'm expecting us to get spanked.

Sounds a bit like Barnsley, who I've a soft spit for as my grandparents were from there, been bobbing along just in the playoff spots, but not impressive against those above them.
It's weird to think since they brought in playoffs the majority of time it's been the third place team who goes up.

25 minutes into Oxford's home first-leg and we're already 2-0 down...

At this rate of improvement we'll only lose the second leg one-nil.

Et...
FFS. Hibs were shite. Still, there must have been 50 or 60 people in Hamden. Not a bad crowd.

Kin 'ell Twenty-one runners have died after extreme weather struck a long-distance race in north-western China. High winds and freezing rain hit participants in the 100km (60-mile) ultramarathon in the Yellow River Stone Forest, a tourist site in Gansu province, on Saturday. The race was halted when some of the 172 runners went missing, and a rescue operation was launched. Many of the stranded runners reportedly suffered from hypothermia. Officials said 151 runners were now confirmed safe, and that eight of them were injured. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-57216601

Given how many utter obsessives do these ultra events, you can bet a fair few had to be physically stopped from carrying on.
