The police aren't violent enough. They should be much more violent. Not to people like me, obvs. Well yes you would think that but you’re a blithering idiot. Much like this police officer. Imagine being called to the scene of a crime and beating up the victim. What a moron. No wonder you feel an affinity with him.

It's not the first time though is it, Dibble are so riddled with racist scum they just automatically assume if a black or brown person is there, they're the petps not the victim.

Of course, plod shouldn't be violent towards people based on their skin colour but based on their offending. If it just so happens that the offenders happen to be, you know, etc. then, you know, etc. Etc.

This is why diversity targets are bad. I blame Khan. "A former Metropolitan Police Officer who was allowed to join the force after previously being accused of child rape has been convicted of carrying out multiple sex attacks. Cliff Mitchell, 24, was convicted of ten counts of rape, three counts of rape of a child under 13, one count of kidnap and breach of a non-molestation order following a trial at Croydon Crown Court. Mitchell was first accused of child rape in 2017, but the investigation resulted in no further action and he was later able to join the Met Police, beginning his training in August 2021." www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/02/21/met-police-officer-found-guilty-of-multiple-rapes-kidnap/

I suppose background checks are racist now. Once upon a time questions would have been discretely and a view taken.

Hmm. Previously accused but the accusation was dropped. So, you know, given that the assumption is innocence it's hard to know exactly how the Met should respond.
Anyway, clearly you can't trust anyone who chooses to join the police, and this guy should be tied in a canvas bag with a load of bricks and dropped in the Thames.

It would seem prudent to have asked around a bit and then drowned him.

I think plod are allowed to take more into consideration than just guilty or not guilty. It is, after all, plod.

Still, Wayne Couzens was nicknamed the rapist so I suppose that shouldn't have rung any alarm bells because he hadn't been found guilty of anything.

This is the silliness of the money-spinning DBS checks, which do fuckall except check if you've been convicted of noncery. MoD SC checks at least take up references and check them out.

I used to work with a chick whose partner was in the Met, in the gangs unit or whatever it's called. When they first got together she (the one I knew) had to have background checks done on her. Then her partner got promoted and the one I knew had to get even more background checks done, including on her family. This when Boris was mayor, of course.

I expect that background checks have been abandoned for political reasons and/or cost cutting.

Dunno what the Met could do in this instance. If an accusation has been made by somebody but then dropped is that enough to deny somebody a job? Could he sue?
I mean the police is full of rapists so it’s an interesting conundrum.
Another police rapist to add to a very long list.

I suppose background checks are racist now. Once upon a time questions would have been discretely and a view taken. What makes you think they don’t do background checks? The question is whether they can treat accusations the same as actual convictions. We have to have background checks in my industry but I cannot imagine any police reports show actual accusation in addition to convictions.

I don't think they do background checks because blokes like this get through, despite having been accused of noncery, and then having gone on to commit multiple acts of noncery. Do you not bother to read the discussion before ejaculating?

To what extent do you think corporate background checks go?
Do they take up personal character references, in addition to former employers/colleagues?
Do they speak to former partners or known associates?

I'd take a very dim view of any hints of wrongdoing. I definitely wouldn't let diversity targets interfere with public safety.
