Good lord. They really are working hard to test out how un-re-electable Starmer's going to be, aren't they? Find the most appalling Labour PM in history and then see if you can lose an election to him.

Audible gasps in room at result - James Cleverly was 18 points ahead y'day.
I've spoken to Tory MPs today who were voting for their preferred *second* candidate in final two - all were working on basis Cleverly was safe.
Hahahahahaha! They were trying to eliminate the Kemmster knowing the Jenrick is f**k**g horrible even to the membership and managed to f**k their guy instead.

I see the left are astonished and just can't believe how the Tories conduct themselves. They know deep down that Labour could never live up to that.

Yep, not even this Labour party could achieve such levels of shambolic incompetence the Tories are managing here.

Are they?
I just think it's the usual Tory ploy of f*ck*ng each other over whilst pretending not to be f*ck*ng each other over. Of course, we'll end up with the best opposition money can buy.
Plus ça change.

I expect that Jimbo had cleverly worked out that the next incumbent is likely to go the way of Redwood et al. Let the necrophiliac Jenrick take the fall.

Internet chatter says that if Kemi goes to the membership, Kemi will win. Which seems both plausible and a good reason to attempt the sabotage. It remains a hilarious f**k-up, though.
I don't think it's necessarily wise to assume the next leader would have failed. A competent leader with 5 years against Starmer could do themselves so much good because anyone would look like a moral and intellectual giant just by standing next to Starmer and saying nothing.
Now that the person standing next to Starmer is going to be Weirdo Jenrick or Psycho Kemi, then that probably does mean the next leader is a Howard or IDS or Redwood.

I see the far left fear Kemi because of her extreme competence and appeal to British voters.

Wonderful woman. I've always said. Of course such is SiD in the Tories, that it could have been any MP.

Yes, compare and contrast to Labour's pitiful puddle of puniness: every "leader" but one since WW2 a white public school lawyer. And every man jack of them an utter cunt.

With Starmer promoting over a hundred ministers on gaining power in July, and with only 121 Tory MPs in total, His Majesty’s opposition is going to find “holding this Labour government to account” yet another failed ambition.
Evidently, the Tories’ Strength in Depth is the utter b*ll*cks we knew it to be.
