She did, of course, announce a plan to recruit 20,000 more police officers, but this was a classic piece of legerdemain in seeking to replace all those made redundant by, er, the Tories.

It really is hard to be patronising toward someone of such demonstrably mediocre ability - it really is.

Jesus Christ she is awful. She should be completely unemployed with a resume like that.

But the inadequate and mediocre will always have a place in the conservative party.
