Mids, if you ever overcome your deep fear of wonen and meet and talk to one, you are gonna be so surprised. Meh. They're overrated TBH.

It's weird how the far left are against killing adult murderers but are positively giddy with glee at the thought of killing babies. Imagine not understanding the concept of bodily autonomy. Anyway I am not sure terminating a pregnancy is exclusive to far left-wing women.

Yeah. They're "pro-life" in the way Pol Pot was. the left promotes killing millions upon millions of unborn (and even born) babies, then accuse the right of being pol pot. Projection!Citation? Are you confusing “supporting a woman’s right to choose a termination” with “promotion of terminations”? You know that’s not the same thing right?

Literally no one gives a sh*t about "women having control of their bodies", whatever that actually means (it means nothing. It's literally a nonsensical statement and concept made up by pseudo-intellectual morons). As far as I can tell, the anti abortion people don't want innocent babies killed. I'm not that bothered one way or another, if women want to kill their babies then so be it but it does seem that the anti abortion people have the more rational arguments compared to the abortion lot. No they don’t.

and under the bus she goes. Bad news from the ACLU: Ruth Bader Ginsburg wasn't woke enough"The generational churn at the ACLU now seems to be complete. Out have gone the genuine libertines of the Sixties and Seventies who defended free-speech rights even for those they loathed – the KKK, Nation of Islam, actual Nazis – and in their place are younger, woker, more intolerant campaigners who won’t even defend the right of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to say ‘woman’. The fall of the ACLU, its corruption by woke ideology, is a lesson in what happens when you elevate nebulous goals like ‘social justice’ over that most essential liberty – freedom of speech – and when you buy into, rather than ruthlessly resisting, the reactionary idea that protecting people from offence is more important than standing up for our right to say, write, think and believe whatever we want." hotair.com/allahpundit/2021/09/23/bad-news-from-the-aclu-ruth-bader-ginsburg-wasnt-woke-enough-n417829

Let's not forget that night in '54 in a NYC flat when she got loaded on smack and helped her husband Allen write "Howl".

Looks like Stephen Breyer is likely to step down shortly, giving Biden a chance to nominate someone to the Supreme Court, and with a Democratic Senate a chance that the nomination won't get screwed up by McConnell and team.

Won't make any difference, the court has firmly swung to far right religious nuttery for a generation at least.

I see the right has totaly lost its sh!t tonight over Bidens pledge to put a black woman on the court, rivers of weak piss have been washing all before it, such a pledge is "outragous" and "something something whine whine". Apparently they've totally forgot Reagan made a similar pledge to nominate the first woman to the court to rapturous republican applause a couple of weeks before the 1980 election.

Diversity hire?

Is there a suitably-qualified and experienced candidate? Would she be selected in a blind assessment?
If not, then this policy is wrong, unless Joe proposes to train someone up to the required standard.
Imagine all those defendents who will be forever able to claim that they didn't get a fair trial because the judge was an imposter.

There are a bunch of entirely qualified candidates.
Ironically, judges being qualified hasn't seemed to have been a concern of many on the right when Donald Trump was nominating judges to the lower courts.

Yes I can imagine he would pluck the nearest Walmart worker and put them on the Supreme Court.

As opposed to the normal, poorly qualified lacking in diversity hire? A positive change.

I have seen the news clips. The Right long ago abandoned hiding their racism as their base welcomes it. They genuinely do not believe there is such a thing as a black person qualified to do anything other than menial jobs.

Just to be clear, there are lots and lots of qualified candidates. As this is the case, why not add to the diversity of the court? Oddly, of Trump's three appointments to the Supreme Court, two were actually perfectly adequately qualified (arguably three were, but you could at least argue about the third). But two are catholic and the third raised catholic. Three are white. Two are dudes. All three are members of the political Federalist Society. It's a very narrow set of outlooks.
There are probably 30 or 40 or 50 perfectly adequately qualified candidates for the job, but if the court is dominated by old white catholic dudes, it's going to lack the perspective to see things from different points of view.
