..... not to worry Climb back under your rock , there’s an episode of Love Island on later What are you waffling on about Love Island for? From the BBC not covering foreign news local crime stories (like all other British outlets) to Love Island? Are you getting Dementia or something?

Does the BBC typically cover local crimes stories in global cities all over the world? I would expect that Britney would, rightly be a bigger story. And yet a spot of rain in Germany dominates our headlines for a week and a single tragic shooting is the lead story for the Americas .... www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-57840801Still have if you prefer to hear about Britney.... Or the kids abused by football trainers in the UK, not mentioned by the BBC. Yep, should be closed down.

A spot of rain? You mean huge flooding causing severe loss of life in a neighbour? We also covered the severe weather conditions in Australia when they had the floods years back. That is international newsworthy. It’s not usual for the BBC to cover local crime stories in far away cities. Do you seriously expect them to give exposure to the crime in every single city on the planet? Really? You sound absolutely deranged. I know you have a weird hard on for the Beeb but how many news outlets devote time to local news stories from US cities? The fact you seem confused that a big story concerning a global superstore would make more international deadlines that a local news story is odd. Next you’ll be surprised that a stabbing in Manchester doesn’t make the headlines in Sydney, Australia. Ignore him. He's NG's resident racist.

I think UncleJr is the only person who wants the BBC to become more obsessed with the US and report even more on US news.

Even as a US citizen I think the BBC is too America-obsessed. It should be reporting on Indonesia and South Africa and Brazil (and Germany and Belgium) at the moment, way ahead of 11 deaths in Chicago over a weekend. I mean, if 11 deaths thousands of miles away were a Really Big Deal, imagine how big a deal the 45 deaths every day at home thanks to government f**k-ups over covid are... The BBC should basically have no time to be mentioning anything other than Sajid Javid and Boris Johnson's sociopathic incompetence if 11 deaths is your standard.

Radio 4's practically sold out to US commentators. All part of the process, although Trump being kicked out shocked the Johnson camp for a while. Funny watching Johnson creep around Biden after though.

What is about these murders that make them worthy of international media coverage, in the context of the very high murder rate accross the US and shooting make you so obsessed with them you want them highline over all the others in that period.
Use pictures if it's easier.

All these gun deaths are a very good argument for much stricter gun control. Maybe that's what UJ is getting at?

I suspect not, but I'd be interested to hear his true motivations for his obsession with these killings given how many other gun deaths there will have been in the US over that period.

UJ are you really struggling to see the difference between a local crime story only covered by local news stations in an overseas country, and an event that sparked global protests and was covered by international outlets globally? You are struggling to see why criminals fighting is viewed as less of a news worthy topic compared to a state representative, sworn to protect and serve, slowly suffocating an unarmed citizen on camera? Are you really this obtuse? I mean the quality of your right suggests you are but surely you aren’t really this obtuse? The question is why are you so obsessed with a local Chicago news story and why do you think the BBC exclusively should be covering it? Do you also think they should reserve news space to cover local crime stories in all of the planet’s countless cities?

Well quite but it would be interesting to see the reason for his strange obsession and why he is so upset specifically with the BBC not covering Chicago news stories as compared to Houston, Paris, Lagos, Melbourne etc. Why Chicago - specifically?

Well, we know the answer, just want to see if he's able to be honest and express why he so focused on just this city when so many others have been shot in US cities during the same period.
Though I think he's too much a coward to admit it explicitly

Wasn't it a record number of killings? I think record events are usually reported precisely because they are exceptional and newsworthy. We see lots of reports about record-breaking temperatures in Canada and elsewhere.

Haha calm down ladies , you’re becoming all flustered ! The Beeb have a section within their news section devoted to a place called America .Over the last two weekends record number of people have been shot and killed in Chicago. This story was ignored by Our esteemed news gatherers at El Beeb. I lived there for three years and have returned regularly.... It’s common knowledge locally that these attacks are black on black confined to certain areas & therefore ignored by the race mongers & ruling Dems that were so prevalent during Mr Floyds murder ... The effect of ignoring the situation is to make life far more difficult for residents and discourages investment in those areas....consequently I wondered why there wasn’t more coverage of this.. Simples

Simples Oh so you want the BBC to cover it because you’re racist - got it. Given that Chicago doesn’t have anywhere near the highest murder rate in the USA and that news sites are generally dedicated to the biggest stories then them not covering it is normal and it’s just a combination of your anti-Beeb bias and racism that takes special issue with it. Do you want the Beeb to run news story on every single criminal activity in all US cities? And cover all white on white / Asian on Asian / Latino on Latino crimes? Or is it just black criminals that have you frothing? Why should people who commented on incidences of police brutality and murder feel inclined to also offer their views on general criminality? Also misogyny is boring - it’s 2021.

If UncleJr wants the BBC to focus on gun deaths, I assume that he expects the other 100 gun deaths every day in the US to get ten times the publicity and column inches, every single day, that the 11 in a weekend in Chicago got?
