Also it’s telling the people here posting who are constantly hearing from HR...

I know nothing about HR at my company. Never had any need to be in touch with them.

When i was in leadership the HR woman i worked with when dealing with miscreant nurses was quite reasonable tbf, there to advise us on the contract and regulations.

I find them a brake on getting things done. If you are fair and decent, you can hire and fire people without their help. In my experience, they have a horrible habit of thinking they run the business. This is probably because they are privy to need-to-know info by dint of their role. Often that bleeds into thinking that they know best.

not in a unionized workplace (where all should be), they know the contract, plus licensing requirements and the ministry regulations and are invaluable cos of it, better they know these things than I, I had other priorities in leadership than knowing all that stuff. Plus if we did get rid of someone we always knew there would be no blowback cos the HR woman made sure all the boxes were ticked.
