I wonder if UncleJr would be happy about all these parties being called "Far right". Also, that article seems to be trying very hard to make Fetch happen. The European far-right hasn't just arrived - it's had an incremental rise in some places for a long time but has rarely come close to a majority in most western European countries, while in some eastern ones (Poland and Hungary and Slovakia) it's been in and out of power for well over a decade. The main gist of the article is about the upcoming European Parliament elections yet the author is confusing this with national elections. Also, it's not a "Trump Moment" at all. It's largely a different thing with a different dynamic and trying to set it all up with a US framing is just working way too hard. It's actual anti-immigration right-wingery across most of Europe rather than America's bizarre stupid cult of personality.

Not sure if it's fptp that keeps out the protofacists in the UK, possibly, given the only elections they ever got seats was the European Parliament, other than that Farage and his ilk have mostly just lost their deposit. UJs lot got a few council seats in Burnley decade and a half ago, but that's about it in the UK. Though the UK has always avoided the extremes of fascist and communist candidates winning power, we've never had much truck with either. Even though the Tories have lurched very right over the last decade, they are way to the left of Orban and the US Republicans (closer to the Democrats really).

...FA I think you'll find that journos are routinely being fined if they ever use the word "Right" without its obligatory prefix "Far"..... compulsory part of all Uni PPEs courses now ! Along with the name Tommy Robinson never to be mentioned without the Yaxley-Lennon tag.

Look, if he appears reasonable to you, it says more about your own extremely right wing views than how the other 90% plus see him.
I just never understand why you extremely far right types are so reluctant to admit to it, it's almost as if you know being far right is odious, same as you racists find the most appalling thing is for your racism to be pointed out. FFS man up and own your views.

Ah! Hahahahahahahaha! Tell me that's real. It’s real. And to be fair his side lost World War II which probably explains his confusion.

(And it is fairly bemusing that he chose to change his name specifically to sound more “man of the people” instead of the posh bastard that he really is.)

Van thinks having a double-barrelled name makes someone a "posh bastard". It's hard to imagine how someone gets that thick.

"According to him, his mother was Irish and his father was English.[5] His mother, who worked at a local bakery,[6] remarried when he was still young; his stepfather, Thomas Lennon,[7] worked at the Vauxhall car plant in Luton.[6] Robinson later amended his real surname from Yaxley to Yaxley-Lennon."
What a chinless, blue-blooded, toff!

Saw a 100 year old veteran interviewed yesterday, he was there on D Day and is a huge Farage fan, saying he and Nigel have the same aims and values and share a moral compass. He thought 80 years following the events of D Day he could talk for the first time about his service in the SS.

I just call him Yaxley-Lennon because it seems to upset him and his fanboiz. People are welcome to change their names. It's funny that he felt a need to create a more "John Bull" type Englishy name for himself for political reasons, but if he wants it, he can have it.
Anyway, he's an obnoxious imbecile.
