No, not the shortest thread in the world but a fair way to present an alternative view.
I'll start with two things:
The overall atmosphere from here in Europe isn't necessarily negative. There seems to be some empathy with the British people, and a few notes of dissatisfaction emerging about the EU. I stress it isn't in a 'get rid of the EU' vein but a recognition that the EU's in need of change.
Second, I saw on French news this morning that the UK, France, US and Germany are talking about a closer alliance, at least in intercommunication at this stage.
New start now that Trump's gone?
Oh and also, possibly as a result of Brexit, the proposed changes to the NHS, slimming down the privately-sourced management, have to be good? Or is it just the government clearing the path for further US involvement?

There's an article on the BBC website about a British woman in the US who has been billed $500k for cancer treatment, sorry I can't post a link.
I know you need to have insurance to cover for any treatment in the US,but that just shows how the NHS is so different and special, it's not there to make you homeless or have to go into great debt for treatment.

I genuinely don’t get why any EU country (with the exception of Ireland) cares about whether or not the UK chooses to leave.

Some of the businesses who export to the UK are concerned, but they're adjusting, finding other European outlets. Like those who used to import from the UK; they're finding alternative European sources. All good for the ecology, innit?

And another thing: a lot of people are holidaying at home, rediscovering the UK. It's actually a very beautiful country.

No need. Just imagine living in a concrete armpit.

One man has died and at least nine others have been injured in a spate of stabbings in south London.
Police were called to five reports of stabbings in Croydon on Friday evening.

Apparently Boris and Macron have been having phone calls. Probably about affairs (not of state)

Really? Have you been there?
You'll be pleased to hear that I have promised myself never, ever to go there again if it can be avoided. IKEA or not.

Yeah. It's howling here, but I'll still have to walk the dogs and get my 10,000 steps in.
