Medical staff are there to treat patients, not indulge their tik tok inspired fantasies. Causing distress in a patient is the opposite of treating them.

Also, medical science should be based on, you know, "science" and not made up Stonewall pish.

“ Patients will also be given the right to request that intimate care is carried out by someone of the same biological sex.” This already exists. This is what I mean by how stupid the Tories and their followers are. Promising things that already are in place. It has already existed. However in many places due to the gender imbalance in numbers of male vs. female gynaecologists some places warn in advance they may not be able to fulfil the request. Unless the Tories are going to engage in DEI initiatives to get far more women into gynaecology how on earth do they intend to deliver on that empty process in the public health sector? Edit: Oh I notice the slippery language. Patients will have the right (already in place) to ask that intimate care is provided by somebody of the same sex but they don’t guarantee it…. The same "biological sex", remember.

What a schizophrenic society we are. People will watch zombie apocalypse and slasher movies and have to deal with stressful situations on almost a daily basis but they hear someone say “breastfeeding” or use the wrong pronoun and it’s PTSD time.

If you don’t know anything about gender dysphoria just say that. What does somebody watching a slasher film have to do with the patient doctor relationship and doctors and other medical personnel not seeking to cause distress to patients? What does the fact people have to face stress daily have to do with asserting that medical staff should be not seeking to induce stress in patients they are providing care to especially when it is easily avoided. This is honestly one of the stupidest examples of Whataboutery I have ever seen. Who exactly is harmed by a patient preferring the term “chest feeding” and that being respected? Who is harmed?

Your basic biology really is shaky isn't it?

The same "biological sex", remember. They have had the ability to do that for ages. Hence why it’s they can “request” it not that it will be respected. And if this is about trans panic…how many transgender women do you imagine are involved in providing medical care to cis women vs. how many male gynaecologists? It’s a lot of fuss over nothing if the fear is trans medical staff treating patients of a different biological sex.

Your basic biology really is shaky isn't it? You are talking about “medical science”, what does any of that have to do with how doctors engage with their patients? You do know that it is fairly normal for conversations between patient / medical staff to involve layman’s terms. Why are you so irate at “chestfeeding” being used for patients who think it is more accurate for them? How are you harmed by that? And the reality is this is an unenforceable ruling. If a patient insists on using the term “chest feeding” no medical staff is going to waste time arguing with them instead of treating them. It’s a nothing announcement aimed at placating the transphobes who are making a big deal out of nothing.

The queer thing is, the left campaigned for same sex wards for years. Decades, even. Now they don't know what a woman is. Talk about regressing!

And it’s stupid because in every day language you can hear “breasts / chest” used interchangeably “she has a huge chest!”
For some reason it only becomes a problem when linked to trans men.

Imagine being an (alleged) academic and not understanding the evolution of language.
