The RFU has succumbed to pressure from the bigot brigade who are trying to get organisations to bend reality to match their prejudices. It's a bit pathetic, really.

So these rules don't count when you said you were in favour of the rules? Any chance you could run by the rules you do favour because you haven't come up with much todate, Like I said I'd hate to be a bigot because i don't know the right rules. To quote you: In the meantime, women’s sport is women’s sport with pretty clear rules about who can compete. So, what are thes rules?

Well, in the IOC or World Athletics case, women can compete. In the RFU's case they've bizarrely made it so some women can't compete.

Only if they're not women.

So, when you said "Perhaps you don't understand what the rules are, and have been for many years? You want the rules to change to align with your prejudices, right?" You meant you don't understand what the rules are, because you don't reaslly seem to have a grasp on it.

It would be really handy if, as I asked , you could lay out what the rules are. Simple request, bearing in mind you're the one who accepts the current rules and sports divisions as they stand. except when you don't accept them.

The ones that allow the NZ woman to compete. You're the one distraught that she's allowed to compete, right?

The main point about the rules being as they are, is that they've been this way for a long time (and were in rugby until very recently, too). Trans women competing isn't new.
And despite all the bluster there's no evidence of any real harm anywhere. The scare stuff of "OMG WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF WE ALLOW IT???!!!??" is nonsensical because we already allow it and have done for many years.

The rules were changed in rugby precisely because there was evidence that real harm would be done.
Now, if you don't mean physical harm but rather the harm to other athlete's careers or ability to participate, them that is a matter of common sense. Logical and observable.

Why can't transwomen compete with men?

They can*. So can cis women*. But they are all women so they compete in the women’s sport category.
* probably only in some sports - I think some sports actually restrict women from competing against men, although I don’t know why.

Andy seems confused. He's started talking about physical chemistry- cis isomers etc. This has nothing to do with gender or sex.
