Wow! There really are some sick, sick puppies out there: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-58977839It's almost like they've admitted to themselves that these young women are way out of their league but, you know they've every right to share them, so drugging them and raping them is fine. Thing is, their chances of detection are slight and the consequences to them are trivial.

Hmmm. It be very easy to test for whatever drugs they're being injected with. I have to say I'm a bit sceptical about this. A similar thing happened with claims of spiked drinks a few years ago but it turned out that actual cases of drinks being spiked with drugs were very, very rare and that in the rare cases where spiking could be proved (caught in the act, witnesses stating that the victim absolutely didn't drink all night) it's pretty much always alcohol. Ask voice but I can't help thinking it would be really difficult to surreptitiously inject someone...

I doubt that spiked drinks are all that rare (although I'm sure there are lots of cases of people who're getting absolutely hammered and just don't realise how much they're drinking). But the idea that someone's wandering around stabbing people with a hypodermic seems quite bizarre. I'm sure you'd already have to be utterly wasted if you aren't going to notice that.
I also suspect that it's hard to test clubbers post-facto for date rape drugs because my suspicion is that most clubbers really, really don't want to get drugs tested by the police.

Weird drugs, date rape drugs. They lower sexual inhibitions dramatically. The following day there's a blank; can't remember a thing. They should be illegal.

Injecting someone with something sufficient to knock em out would be tricky in a clud I'd have thought, we'd naturally jerk away from the needle so unless they're pinned somehow it would be difficult.
That being said many of the drugs used to incapacitate women and rape them not only knocks em out but are amnesiacs meaning they often have no memory of the administration or the attack, making it harder to prove as drugs such as midazolam have short half lives and are quickly metabolized out of the system making detecting these drugs very difficult unless it's tested for in a very short period of time.

Oh and I must add, there are drugs that could knock you out very quickly in small doses using a very fine needle, some of the Barbiturates, but there's a good chance you'd kill em doing that.
So I'm not sure on this one, I'm a bit skeptical, but yes it could happen in a way that works that well.

TBF I doubt it would be the first time any of us had felt a bit of a prick at a nightclub.

But seriously, if true the people who would do that are beyond disturbed.
The time and effort to obtain a drug, put it into a needle and inject somebody. When you could just easily find somebody willing and/ or visit a sex worker.

I think it's been published in a sort of jokey "you go girl!" spirit. Van thinks it's brilliant.
