Did Clinton knowingly wave documents showing foreign country’s nuclear capabilities in front of people who don’t have clearance, while explicitly saying “I know you’re not allowed to see this and I know I’m not allowed to have it but look! I have it!”?

But you have to wonder why the idiot US right and bringing this up again. This is exactly the area where Trump deliberately misused his power as President to try and prevent the Ukrainians under Zelensky from getting essential military defence supplies - weakening any possible defence against the Russians - in order to get Zelensky to actually fabricate false evidence against Trump’s political opponents. And they were specifically trying to manufacture evidence against Biden on the subject of Shokin.

A reminder that Shokin was a corrupt prosecutor - who every country in the west wanted removed, not just Joe Biden - who was working for the then pro-Russian Ukrainian administration. The same pro-Russian corrupt administration whose removal triggered Putin’s invasion because he no longer had control over Ukrainian governance.

It feels insane that the right want to remind us of Trump’s illegal attempts to fabricate evidence against his political opponents (particularly when we keep getting reminded of his other anti-US acts from Jan 6 and Georgia, and his other disdain for the legal operation of government with this records case), and to do so by depriving Ukraine of defensive capabilities. It’s like they’re doubling down on all the worst things in news right now.

The more details I read of the Trump indictment, the more incredibly stupid the whole thing is.

Not only is he storing documents containing nuclear secrets in the shower, letting the boxes fall over and spill the contents out because he has so many.

But there’s one instance where it appears that his lawyer tells him he’s coming to do a sweep of the house to make sure there’s no top secret docs left. And Trump tells his bodyman to move a huge number of the boxes, but leave some to make it look like they haven’t done a clean of the house. And there’s f**k**g security cam footage of this. Meanwhile, when the lawyer comes and finds that there’s still some really dodgy stuff in the boxes and tells Trump, Trump actually mimics pulling those papers out and disposing of them so he doesn’t look as bad when they’re returned to the feds.

And then he loads all the rest of the boxes on his plane! Because he wants them with him on his summer hols!

It’s just bonkers. I’m not sure there were any actual threats to national security because of this, but it’s so illegal and so incredibly, incredibly stupid.

Even if there was a bribe - something for which there seems to be no evidence - it's weird that this is the time to bring it back? When Trump is under investigation for crimes against the state, it seems strange - when defending him - to highlight that he has a long, historic pattern of it and this is not just a one off. It also seems strange, at a point when Ukraine is on the offense against an invading Russia, to remind us that Trump threatened to deprive them of essential weapons in order to get them to create a false story.

Are you having trouble reading? Hillary didn't wave documents containing details of how the US would attack Iran around in front of people who had to clearance. Nothing on her email server seems to have been seen by people without clearance. When asked to return stuff she (mostly, sort of) did.

Most importantly, even if everything claimed against her is true, she wasn't so f**k**g stupid to have it all recorded, have footage of the documents getting put on her plane immediately after claiming to the feds that she'd returned everything.

Trump not only broke all the laws, then doubled down on breaking them by obstructing investigations. But he also managed to do it in the stupidest way possible.

Well, I'm glad you agree that if someone was chanting for Hillary to be locked up, then clearly by the same standards Trump should be in a prison cell.

I don't agree that classified is classified. It's been widely noted that most of the docs held by the likes of Mike Pence were the kind of huge volumes of stuff that just gets classified by default, as a "just in case" thing. That is very different from having the specifics of a US potential military action being shown to any old idiot, of stuff that's classified as "5 eyes only" on nuclear capabilities left in the ballroom where strangers are getting married.

And obviously, returning the documents when asked is different from actively telling your lawyers to hide them, telling your bodyman to squirrel them away, asking to have them put on the plane so they can come on your summer vacation with you.
