Also the cohort effect. The proper comparison is with the demographics at the time the average senior role person was born, not of today. In 1991, it was close to 99%. At the time of Yousaf's birth even lower.

It's proportion of the population, not where you used to live. When you move to Scotland you become part of the population.

There's some cohort effect, but some of those changes have come from immigration because some daft people have decided - for some strange reason - that they want to live in Scotland.

So we really need to know what percentage of 50 year olds are non-white, rather than what percentage of scots were non-white 50 years ago.
