"Accountants Johnston Carmichael, which has worked with the party for more than a decade, said the decision was taken after a review of its clients."
Yes, they've decided not to work for the ones that can't pay them and which might land them in jail.

Nicky will have been glad to have made it to the bank holiday, I reckon. I doubt that many SNP staffers will be getting much down time but, you know, it's just as well Easter's not their thing.

They're either getting really, really desperate or they know exactly what they're after but just can't find it.
The Easter Bunny's good.

Wow, I've owned both a camper van and a motorhome but £110k for a posh van?!

Why don't they audit him? Where does he find money to pay for this? Parking it in his mum's driveway's a bit of a giveaway - "Not mine guv, honest."

Never used. Parked on Mum's drive. Write it down against tax each year and then write it off at a peppercorn value, eh? Of course, there's no point on letting it rust, so we might as well keep it run-in before we take it off the asset register ......
Nice.

"The new leader of the Scottish National party, Humza Yousaf, and the MSP who was his closest rival for the position, Kate Forbes, have urged members to stay the course as further accusations of secrecy and financial mismanagement engulf it.
On Tuesday, Yousaf revealed that the SNP’s auditors quit six months ago, a fact none of the leadership contenders were made aware of during the campaign to replace Nicola Sturgeon, raising significant questions about transparency under the former chief executive Peter Murrell."
I'm conscious that this is a bit of a niche interest Hollyrood village hobbyhorse of mine and that I don't have a dog in the fight really, however, it does appear that this is turning into a modern day fable along the lines of The Emperor's New Clothes, or maybe just a cautionary tale about the mundanity of the mundane. Maybe Ozimandias. Something like that, anyway.

Camper van? On someone else's drive? I reckon that that same "someone" is cooking crystal meth - or have I been watching too much Breaking Bad recently?

The tories must be absolutely bricking themselves if dibble are starting to take political corruption seriously, if they're making merry over a camper van in Scotland, just think what could happen if they start looking south.

Maybe Ozimandias. Something like that, anyway. It's ace. Long time coming too. Scottish politics has been a mire ever since I can remember. As a believer in Great Britain it makes my heart soar like a hawk to see the SNP's (I hope) downfall. The fu ckin' tubes.

While the van itself is hardly corruption on a massive scale, saying it was going to be a 'battle bus' is ridiculous. It's obviously a lie.
If you did actually want a campaign bus which also provides acommodation (during lockdown, arguably a good idea), you wouldn't have bought that. It's a high-end luxury motorhome which cost more than my first house! It's designed for a wealthy couple to go on their travels in comfort.
It will have virtually no workspace and simply isn't appropriate for the role.

Yeah, you want a band tour bus for that sort of thing. Not a luxury two-berther (oooerrrr).

In fact, during the pandemic, they'd probably have got a good deal renting one from a company that rents them out.
