Definitely true of the SNP and Labour. I don't think many Scots realise how much cash Britain throws at them. The SNP keep that one quiet.

Interesting language. Accounts "in balance" seems like a carefully chosen phrase, like "we have balanced the books" but not quite the same thing. Also "can meet all current liabilities" sounds a bit like: "we can pay the bills we have this month, but nobody's getting paid next month".

"SNP treasurer Colin Beattie has been arrested by police investigating the party's finances.

Mr Beattie, 71, has been taken into custody and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives.

The Americans often add or swap in an "ee" or softer vowel sound at the end of nouns. I wonder if that's a Scots influence.
