An occasional thread for word of expressions that are being used waaaaaaaay too often.
My inaugural offer: algorithm.

I don’t mind algorithm provided it’s used only in the right places rather than as an advertising pitch.

Anyway:
Farm-to-table. Which should have stopped 10 years ago but is still doing the rounds. Even though almost everything we ever eat has gone from farm to table. If you’re eating at a Farm to Table Restaurant, the food started in a farm, went through a middle man, ended up at the restaurant and got cooked. Which is no different to all other restaurants.

Disruptor/distrupting.
Makes me want to kick walls.
Our new-ish marketing woman suggested we use those words in our profiles. I made a mental note to get rid of her, right there.
She's f**k**g rubbish and we all know it. The COO has twice ripped into her in meetings (not good, not nice, nor necessary and not the way to do things) but he has a point. I was doing my best to support her up until then, but not now.

Anything of quality that does the job soon gets known.

"What people need to remember is that the strikers are missing out on a day's pay ...."
Very much a key message amongst scumbag strikers at the moment.

Good marketing is essential. This lass is a posing fuckwit. She doesn't get what we do, how we engage or why we do it.
She wants us to wear ties and run things up flagpoles in Q2. thingy.

"You need to" or "I need you to". It seems to be only an American thing, for now.

People (even some marketing people) seem to often think that advertising and marketing are the same thing. They are not.
