Re. letting these nations into the EU, and to a wider degree any form of inclusion/immigration of a 'less civilised' outsider... does the influx reduce the standards of the host nation or vice-versa or both? I know all the old curry and cous cous answers, but overall.

It certainly has when it comes to mass immigration. If we had our time again, I doubt we would do that. Certain communities more than others. The Sikhs and the Hindus have been pretty successful, but there are other groups that have let us and themselves down.

It's an obvious cheat to claim that all immigrants and immigration is the same. Ugandan Asians, positive. Others not so much.

The less civilised immigrants tend to lower the tone? I suppose it's obvious really, but it's something not discussed nowadays. I travel a fair bit and observe that areas lived in by some immigrants, are run down. If you check the housing conditions of those living in these areas, once acceptable habitation is being reduced to unacceptable; some are even cooking outside, reverting to type.
Some of the estates around Paris and other large towns are dangerous no-go areas, the housing, once lived in by non-immigrants and kept clean and tidy, is now falling apart and filthy. Drug dealing goes on on a massive scale, violence is everyday, and instead of being contained, it's spreading.
But. It evolves. The more together families work and buy their way out to better areas - I saw it happen in London. So it's not all bad, and in the grand scheme of things it's improving, but is this the way it's going to be now, that we are the civilising energy that has to live with the negative side of this ongoing influx of less-civilised souls flowing into the western world?
I believe this explains Brexit to a fair degree, and much of the discontent in other countries of Europe.

I think if you start treating people as individuals you don’t need to have such nonsense discussions. And are you talking about immigrants or non-whites because often people say the former when they mean the latter. Two completely different things.
I will say though anything that annoys racist white people will always be ok with me…

Do you think my post is incorrect? Do you have an alternative view? Why not discuss it?

Do you think my post is incorrect? Do you have an alternative view? Why not discuss it? Yes I do. Why not read my responses. Your post however is utterly random and in relation to nothing.

You should brush up on the English language. It's not all about monosyllabic statements you know - if you try to take it all in rather than select small sections which strike a note in your mind you'll see the context.

Immigrants generally improve places. Australia didn't have aeroplanes and cricket until the Brits got there. The US didn't have wine or cars until the Spanish got there. Britain didn't have bridges or paved roads or even McDonalds until the Romans arrived.

Yeah there's little doubt European immigrants have generally been good throughout history. Others, not so much.

Yeah there's little doubt European immigrants have generally been good throughout history. Others, not so much. European immigrants are great. European colonisers….not so much.
