They are too stupid to comprehend, with no government come no book banning, no abortion bans, no police to protect their I'll gotten gains, no one making sure the food they eat won't poison them, no way to know if the drugs they are prescribed is what it says it is, and so on and so on.

It's hard to know which is crazier. The first group who believe that getting rid of the government and letting the free market take over will solve all those problems, and the second group who really just don't give a f**k.

I think the second group is more dangerous, the Randophites still believe in limited democracy and accept government has a small roll, the MAGAwallahs appear to want all democracy got rid of, they simply want their strong man leader to be in charge, to do as they please. The second group are in essence fascists.

Gymmie has now apparently lost massively in a vote among Republicans on whether he is their "speaker designate". He is no longer their choice for Speaker, so I guess they pick someone else to have a go at it now.

I guess somone who was part of the insurection and trying to overthrow the legitimately elected government being speaker was just too much for the handful of reps who still actually believe in the Constitution and democracy.
Though there is no obvious candidate, the far right wreckers won't vote for anyone reasonable and no one reasonable will vote for one of the wreckers.
Jeffries btw has now won more speaker elections than any previous candidate.

Not a great idea to have an insurrectionist as speaker of the house.
That and being a pedo-enabler are about the only things Gym has on his resume (CV).

His bid to be speaker fell as flat as all his 'investigations'.

200 Republicans repeatedly voted for Gym "I was completely unaware of any allegations of rape on my watch even though all of my athletes told me about them" Jordan. It's worth remembering that. 200+ of these morons are willing to have a rape enabling insurrectionist speaker.

Losing loser loses again.
I wonder if he’s tired of all the “winning” yet.

Another Trump lawyer has decided to plead guilty. I still have my doubts if Trump himself is ever going to be found guilty, but this is not great news for Rudy.
Meanwhile, Tom Emmer is the latest Republican to try and get to 217 votes having taken 5 rounds of voting to just become the Republican nominee. Clearly not very popular, but I do wonder if he's not hated by enough people yet and might still become Speaker. It feels like the angry rebels might realise that continuing this isn't going to lead anywhere good.

Trump will say he's never heard of her or she was never on his legal team, just like he did with Powell.
The waddling crime spree got elected promising to drain the swamp, how ironic is that.

They are really doing a special job of making themselves look more and more useless. We will, of course, end up with an appalling right-wing speaker who won't pass spending bills, and it'll be disastrous for the country. But it's entertaining to watch them make such fools of themselves on the way.

I wonder if any will cross the isle as a way to get this resolved, probably not, they'd be primaried and loose their seat at the trough.
Though what a shambles, no wonder they keep loosing election after election, they are simply not a serious party any more, and lack any kind of leadership capable of putting that right.

No. They are almost all more right wing than even most Republican senators. Gerrymandering means their only competition tends to be in primaries. I still expect the "centrists" to cave on a fairly right wing nut job. The latest candidate, Johnson, seems like the kind of person who might carry that. There's also no way that a Republican speaker could, himself, behave in a moderate way without getting primaried which is why I think McHenry is terrified of being offered the job even on a temporary basis.

As someone mentioned, there might be a purge coming in the party. Unfortunately, it might be the moderates who get purged.
They should get 5 Reps to just abstain or not show up and let the Dems elect Jeffries.
