comrade blackface justin doing a real number. Thousands of churches raise alarm 'More than 4,000 pastors protested against Canadian law that describes biblical morality as a 'myth'"The controversial legislation, which went into effect Jan. 8 after being fast-tracked through the Canadian Parliament in December without extensive debate, describes as a "myth" the belief that heterosexuality and cisgender identity are preferable. Counseling that does not align with such a worldview now carries a potential five-year jail sentence. Critics claim the language of the bill is overbroad and could even encompass private conversations."www.foxnews.com/world/thousands-churches-raise-alarm-scope-new-canadian-conversion-therapy-banso much for freedom of religion, eh? if Christians express their faith, even in private, off to prison they may go. but don't you dare question the grooming of 3 year old children by the trans cult. You guys love it when France acts similarly. It is also good and proper that Canada moves aware from basing legislation on religious belief systems.

Less evolved people need religion, or some form of god, to give credence to the growing awareness that hurting others isn't necessarily a good thing.

Tripe. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot. All avowed atheists.

Less evolved people need religion, or some form of god, to give credence to the growing awareness that hurting others isn't necessarily a good thing. we need more evolved non religious people like hitler, stalin, mao tse tung, polpot, lil kim? atheists all. all those examples were more evolved because they didn't need religion. free thinkers. all of them.

It's always funny the godbotherrs bring up stakin Hitler and Mao while totally ignoring the many many more wars started by religious nuts over the millennium, even today. And even though Hitler and Stalin may have been atheists, their soldiers most certainly were not, and both used religion to justify their wars and atrocities.

When Mocow was about to fall he opened the churches and encouraged the Orthodox church to be part of the war effort for one, he then kept on using the church, trading opening them up for its support of the regime. And much of Russia never lost its religion, as we see today, it's still a very religious place.
Hitlers Germany was a awash with Chistian symbology much of his anti Semitic was based on blood liable. To not recognize the wider context, preferring to focus on his supposed atheism is simply diengenious.

Atheists have killed more people than non-atheists. That's just a scientific fact.

Atheists have killed more people than non-atheists. That's just a scientific fact. Non-atheists are people too, hard though it is to believe. And I don't know if atheists have killed more of which group.

Just to take your first point: how is an appeal to Russian patriotism through the Orthodox Church in defence of Moscow the same as using religion to justify a war?

Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure the predations of your 5 heroes comes nowhere near that of the Christian mob over the centuries.

Pfft. They racked up some pretty big numbers between them. All in the same century too. A century dominated by explicitly atheist doctrines.

Okay, as a rational and impartial non-religious type, perhaps we can examine the mass killing events that can be attributed to purely religious motives on behalf of the perps.

I suppose it's worth examining the rise of ISIS and al-Q in the modern context. No denying that they are explicitly religious in their headlined motivation, and yet, how faithful are either to the fundamental tenets of that religion? Religious fundamentalist who ignore the fundamentals of their religion.
I am sure there are other examples.
